Room above main hall

This has probably been asked before, but what is this room?

Download.exe version from the games section
Go in the castle
Make the size of the flash player really skinny.
You will notice a few underground toads, and above the castle hall, there is a huge room with a big ribbon. It looks like this:
It looked like the thing you unlock with a red shine sprite at first, but then if you look for a second longer you can clearly tell it isn't.
Sadly I'm a new user so I can't HTML in a screenshot, but there is one located at
imgur #h42URMl
Also here is an uploaded one
What are these underground toads, and what is that HUGE hallway above the main thing that you stand in?

That was actually the original design of SM63 Peach's Castle, before final edits were made. I can only assume that Runouw has left it outside level bounds, but if you zoom out as much as you did, you can probably still see it. I don't think it was intended that way at all, though.

That is beta stuff leftover from earlier versions of the game. The big area you're mentioning is what the castle looked like in the beta version, when it was based off Paper Mario. The newer version is based off Super Mario 64. The toads are also likely leftover content, but they could also be there as placeholders for when the toads appear in the castle, and they're just down there so that you think they aren't there.

EDIT: Dang it Ampy, you ninja'd me.

I found the beta version of super mario 63. Try it. I actually like the pause screen in the beta better, but oh well.

Every reference to Runouw is removed. Smooth.

While everything saying Runouw made it was removed, I like this version a lot.

For one, you get to play as best brother whenever.
And secondly, most of the sound works fine. That's like a godsend
(although the coins in the loading screen are REALLY bad)

Oh my gosh...that is so nostalgic. I think the game was like that when I first played it with my friend at school, and when I got home I saved this version to favourites called Mario 63. I was really confused as to why loads of parts were incomplete, but I still loved it, it was the best online game I ever played. :P Which is probably why it led to me, eventually, in 3 years, joining the site.

I still do prefer the complete version, but I like the option of playing as Luigi any time you like. Having that option would make my series a hella lot easier.

SPOILER: The Mario and Luigi buttons still exist on the File Select Menu, they are only off the top of the screen. If you already know how to see the leftover content out of the boundaries, you'll know this. : P :RELIOPS

I too prefer the complete version - for fairly obvious reasons. But nice find, p23*.
What I don't totally get though is why there is no mention of Runouw. It is as if the creator wasn't originally them, but *plot twist* that site refers to the creator(s) as "the Super Mario 64 and Nintendo fan base." Maybe Runouw was that, but I dunno.

It's because they'd rather take credit for inventing the game than admit that Runouw really made it and they did nothing but steal it.

This is going off topic now. Make a new topic on this topic. Wow that sounded weird.
