Tick Tock Clock: Weird Coin

Lélio made a video a while ago about a way to skip collecting the 8 red coins in TTC. It involves going out of bounds, and then returning in bounds. He concluded that you needed to collect a red coin, and then collect a second one while out of bounds. Then, return in bounds, the star is collectable.

What Sekanor and I've recently discovered is that it has nothing to do with going out of bounds. In fact, the method that Lélio demonstrates in his video doesn't put you out of bounds, rather it just moves the camera in a weird place. The camera snaps back when you get attacked by a goomba for whatever reason.

What actually happens is that if you collect the leftmost red coin, and then reload the room (dying or leaving and re-entering the area) The red coin star will just be there. For whatever reason, it only happens with this coin.

I have two questions:
Was this known about before?
Why does this coin act different?

Any help would be appreciated.

This comes very late as a reply, but I've found that this one red coin really lets the shine sprite appear and it has nothing to do with going out of bounds.

There is a similar glitch with Wet-Dry World. If you grab one red coin and then die, the Shine Sprite will appear. I don't think it matters which one you grab.
