Should Tab Manipulation be Allowed in Speedruns?

In the SM63 Speedrunning community there's been debates on whether a category for speedruns using the Tab Glitch should be added to the official leaderboards.
The argument for it is that it's simply exploiting the software normally required to play the game, such as using the pause menu to play on the title screen in Twilight Princess. (Edit: That video was on the GameCube Version, this argument applies more to the Wii Version.
The argument against it is that it's manipulating hardware, like the crooked cartridge glitch in Ocarina of Time, which is banned in speedruns.

What are your opinions on the matter? I have a strawpoll for you to vote on, and if you want you can elaborate on your opinions in the comments of this forum thread.

If you didn't know, glitches are allowed in speedruns. That's not a valid reason for banning it. If you wish to argue for banning glitches, fine, but that's not the point of this thread.

That trick looks like it take barely any skills. If considering speedruns are demonstrations of mastery of the game, this glitch shouldn't be allowed IMO.

By nature speedruns are done to play through a game as fast as possible by any means necessairy other than cheating/modding the game. Just because a trick takes barely any skills doesn't mean that it should be banned.

If it's that significant and debated, it should probably have its own category.
