If SM63 was made for Nintendo...

Postby Zunar » April 30th, 2010, 6:41 pm

If Super Mario 63 was made for Nintendo, then here's my idea for controls (GBA, DS, and Wii):

GBA:
Move- Left/Right
Run- Double tap Left/Right
Jump- A
Read/Talk- Up
Ground Pound- Down (in mid-air)
Spin-B (hold)
Use F.L.U.D.D.- L
Switch F.L.U.D.D. powerups- Select
Duck/Dive- R
Backflip- R+A
Pause- Start
Enter Door/Painting- Up
Enter Pipe- Down

DS:
Move- Left/Right
Run- Double tap Left/Right
Jump- B
Spin- Y (hold)
Duck/Dive- A
Backflip- A+B
Read/Talk- X
Ground Pound- Down (In mid-air)
Use FLUDD- R
Switch FLUDD powerups- L
Pause- Start
Enter Door/Painting- Up
Enter Pipe- Down

-LD:
Basically same as on computer.
Control Pad - Scroll View
Touch - Place Tile/Item or Select option
A - Open Course Info
B - Delete (hold and touch tile/item)
X - Open Items window
Y - Open Tiles window
R - Hold to place several items
L - Save Level
Start - Play Level
Select - Reset Camera to Mario

You can save up to three levels, and share them via WFC.

Wii:
Wiimote Controls-
Move- Ctrl Pad Left/Right
Run- Double tap left/Right
Jump- 2
Spin- 1
Duck/Dive- A
Read/Talk- Shake
Ground Pound- Ctrl Pad Down (in mid-air)
Use FLUDD- B
Switch FLUDDs- -
Pause- +
Enter Doors/Paintings- Ctrl Pad Up
Enter Pipes- Ctrl Pad Down

Wiimote+Nunchuck Controls-
-Normal:
Move-Ctrl Stick Left/Right
Run-Double tap Ctrl Stick Left/Right
Jump- A
Spin- B
Use FLUDD- C
Switch FLUDD powerups- Control Pad (Up-None, Left-Hover, Right-Rocket, Down-Turbo)
Duck/Dive- Z
Read/Talk- Shake
Pause- +
Ground Pound- Down (in mid-air)
Enter Door/Painting- Ctrl Stick Up
Enter Pipe- Ctrl Stick Down
-Point:
Move, Jump, Duck/Dive- Point at screen and move Wiimote up and down.
Run- Hold A while moving (and not pointing at a sign or toad)
Spin- B
Use FLUDD- C
Switch FLUDD powerups- Control Pad (Up-None, Left-Hover, Right-Rocket, Down-Turbo)
Read/Talk/Ground Pound- Point at sign/toad/Mario and press A or press Z.
Pause- + or -
Enter Door/Painting/Pipe- Point at and press A

Classic Controller:
Move- Left Ctrl Stick Left/Right
Run-Double tap Left Ctrl Stick Left/Right
Jump- B
Spin- Hold Y
Use FLUDD- R
Switch FLUDD powerups- Control Pad/Right Control Stick (Up-None, Left-Hover, Right-Rocket, Down-Turbo)
Duck/Dive- A
Ground Pound- L
Read, Talk- X
Enter Door/Painting- Up
Enter Pipe- Down
Pause- + or -

-LD:
Almost same as computer and DS, but a little different.
Wiimote:
Control Pad - Scroll View
Point at Screen - Move Cursor (to place tiles/items or make selections)
A - Place Tile/Item, Select Option
B - Delete (hold and select tile/item)
1 - Open Items window
2 - Open Tiles window
+ - Play Level
- - Reset Camera to Mario
Wiimote + Nunchuck:
Control Stick - Scroll View
Ctrl Pad Up/Down- Zoom in/out
Ctrl Pad Left/Right- Save/Load Level
Point at Screen - Move Cursor (to place tiles/items or make selections)
A - Place Tile/Item, Select Option
B - Delete (hold and select tile/item)
C - Hold to place several Items
Z - Close all open windows
+ - Play Level
- - Open Course Info
1 - Open Tiles window
2 - Open Items window

You can save as many levels as your Wii memory will allow, and you can share levels over WFC.

How do you like?

It is the NDS?
If it is, you can use the pen to do the LD.
But really, some buttons are hard!

You cannot make up to jump and down to dive when using a D-pad. That's a little too difficult to control.
You should change it to:
A: Jump
B: Dive
X: Spin attack
Y: Ground pound.
Pressing up goes through doors, but reading signs and talking to people would use Y.
So, pressing B (Dive) then up (on the ground) would perform a backflip.

The big R does have a point there. It does sound easyier. (Hey Runouw can i call you that :) )
I'm Pretty sure I should put something here...
