Secret SM63 Updates?

Take a look at these pictures of this sign in the Tutorial:




This sign is clearly different than it used to be. The graphics are different, the font is different…it is clearly different.

I also think this one is different:

I'm pretty sure that, if nothing else, that "z" key in the two boxes showing Mario ground pounding is different.

So what does this all mean? That Runouw has made some unannounced updates to the game! Can you guys find any more? Feel free to share what you find.

EDIT: I have found some more…I think that the Wing Cap one in Snowman's Land is different, and the one in Bob-omb Battlefield that displays the map is also different. Also, the Beware of Falling Objects sign is different in Bob-omb Battlefield…

Woah! You notice these and not the bug fixes and new level designer content I added with each update?

Yes, over the few months following the official release, I was updating a few things here and there. But most of the differences in font you are talking about are probably due to the fonts you have on your computer. I find that if I play the game on another computer, not all of the text looks exactly the same.

Hmm…well, it's true I now have a new computer since the last time I played the game, but I only went from a MacBook to a MacBook Pro, and I don't think there are major font differences between them, but I could be wrong. Anyhow, these are nice updates.

There are LD updates as well? The normal goomba still spells "Gomba"...

I haven't noticed much difference besides the "Skip" button, so yeah anything else?

Speaking of backgrounds…I noticed that both Tutorial backgrounds now have water in them…this new too or did I just miss it before?

See those two yellow horizontal lines? They move (looks pretty neat, actually) in the game. I'm pretty sure they weren't there before…could be wrong though.

I hope he will be able to add to the level designer more things like Toads (could be really good for levels series!!!!) and also vertical transitions. This would be awesome to have also the toxic air. I got lots of ideas too!!!!
