Here is how it happened.




Step one: Began trying to hit Robot Bowser one last time to win.
Step two: Bowser Robot dives to burn me.
Step Three: I jump a little too late.
Step Four: Luigi gets burned and floats into the air
Step Five: Just as Bowser Robot is coming back up, I move Luigi over him and hit him.
Step Six: While I read the cutscene, Luigi bounces over to the far right and begins to look like he's humping the wall.
Step Seven: When the save thingy came up, Luigi started floating away with a shocked expression on his face.
Step Seven: I click Save and he plummets down.

Wouldn't the same thing happened if you chose Mario?

Dunno. Haven't tried Mario yet.

Sorry for the bump, but I haven't been here, so yeah. Now, you refer to Robot Bowser, so I assume that you mean Bowser III. Remember that Luigi isn't supposed to be the character that you use for Bowser III, and as such it tends to be very glitchy. I highly doubt this will happen with Mario…I suspect the it's because you're using Luigi that the glitch occurs.
