Flashmaking Software

Postby nin10mode » November 6th, 2011, 5:58 pm

I'm not really interested in coding too much, but I would really like to try animating, so would anyone happen to know a good (free to use) program for flash movie making?

I've been searching around and saw a bunch of suggestions for SWiSH. Especially SWiSHMax. That could be something you could try.

Also if you're gonna make a runouw.com flash I would totally do the voice for me.

Er... Adobe Flash. :troll:

Even if you're not interested in coding, it can be a valuable part of animation. For one thing, it can allow you to stop/start, provide links and chapters (if it's a particularly long animation), but can also be used for the animating itself.

Scratch is good too. It's basically a powerful animation application with the clip-code feature of Stencyl.

But it's still animation at the core.

Scratch? Powerful? lolwut.

Scratch is a beginner's tool meant to teach the basics of coding logic. It's not designed for creating high quality animations. While I'm sure you can make some animations with it, you'd only be handicapping yourself if you're intending to make serious works.

...unless you're talking about a different "Scratch", in which case, my bad. Or you've managed to unlock the inner chakra of Scratch and found it's true meaning, ascending it to a plane incomprehensible by mortals, because frankly, when I used it, it sucked dildos.

I meant powerful as animation. You can make your own sprites on the spot, you can control them, place them precisely using a bit of code, etc. etc. Then you get to the backgrounds, speech bubbles popping up without using any tweening or stuff, it's just good.

Alligator Flash Designer is somewhat like Flash. Have yet to fully use it, though.

TECHNICALLY, you don't need to buy Flash.....There are other ways if you want to test the governments eyes. o_O
