Ooh, platforming!

If I'm being perfectly honest, I've had a game idea in my head that is a platform puzzler that could be really cool to make (even made a theme for it that's unlisted on my channel). I'll post more details about it later, but the main gist is that you control both a human character and can switch to a semisolid "block" of sorts that can slip through cracks in walls, turn into a rope, and lots of other context sensitive stuff.

You mean

?

I think that would be pretty neat. I'm starting to feel like RPG elements would be a bit too much due to the effort of creating a solid original story (this English final project is teaching me a lot about how ♥♥♥♥ insanely difficult creative writing is, lol), especially if we want to make it all unique, since that would mean a story plus probably branching/alternate routes and endings. And since a straight platformer would probably not be the most interesting thing unless we can come up with some gimmick like VVVVVV, platform-puzzler/puzzle-platformer sounds like a pretty solid idea. I like that you have specific plans, too, since we've been talking entirely in generalities up to this point lol

So basically, being a platform puzzler (or vice versa or whatever), to get from point A to B you'll often times need to solve some sort of puzzle involving the game mechanics. Multiple puzzles can be featured in one level. A semi-solid block assists you in solving these puzzles, or helping you with the platforming. Of course, the block can't do everything the human can, even if it can do a lot more. Having the two work in conjunction is the key to passing many of the levels.

edit: lol I got ninja'd, but yeah, that's basically the gist of it
