Perl 5 for Windows

Postby fourinone » June 22nd, 2010, 7:51 pm

I'm just going to throw this out there and see if anyone can help me...

So yes, I'm looking for a way to get Perl 5 on my computer. To quote from a book, "If you are on the Internet, you can obtain a copy of Perl with file-transfer protocol (FTP).", and then it tells me to go to "$ ftp prep.ai.mit.edu". Problem is, I have absolutely no idea what this means. o_O So, my question is: How do I access a FTP on a Windows machine? If someone can walk me through this, that would be great...

Get a FTP Client like FileZilla.

Start it, type "prep.ai.mit.edu" at the server. Leave Username and Password blank. Hit Connect.
If this doesn't work, check around the settings to find a setting like "Log in as Anonymus" (I bet I wrote that wrong). I dunno where you can find it, since I use FireFTP. But eh, this should work.
