Your Top 5 Favorite Movies

Postby Chaukai » May 24th, 2011, 4:05 am

So! Title is simple! List your top 5, and then tell us why you put them as that?

5. Airplane!

If you're looking for comedy, why not go back to the very source of raw, inappropriate, witty wordplay. If you like parody movies, this is truly the heart of it all.

4. Pulp Fiction

Ahh, Quentin Terentino. You just gotta love his movies. These seemingly jumbled together scenes suddenly flow beautifully, with an all-star cast that's unforgettable, it's an epic of its own time.

3. District 9

While many people actually disliked this movie, I will say that I had quite a time watching this. It was masterfully put together, although there were some slight flaws, with the budget that they had, it was quite amazing what they were able to put together.

2. Inglorious Basterds

Epic. Just... Epic. I mean. This is the film, that you think, "Oh, another WWII movie," but then completely throws you off and punches you three times in the face. This is a MUST SEE, it has great action, great actors, excellent scenes that capture the tensity of all the fighting. Now, some complain about subtitles. Suck it up. They can speak in other languages too.

1. The Dark Knight

This shouldn't be too surprising to anyone who knows me. The Dark Knight has always been one of my favorite movies. Heath Ledger's role in the Dark Knight was a huge impact, but the movie itself was phenomenal. It gave just the right amount of action, but also was able to really delve into the human sociological mind, and what they would really do at times when supervillains roamed. The Joker was the epitome of what a supervillain would be in real life. The change of Harvey Dent's character is another that fantastically shows how corruption can become of humanity. Just... Watch it. Now.

Oh damn, lesse here.

5. Kung Fu Panda

This is one of those movies that I just love for an unknown reason. Is it because Jack Black is in it? Is it because it's animated? Dunno...

4. The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya

This was a pretty awesome movie. The suspense it mind boggling and if you followed the series, it just makes it more great. Hell, it may have been in Japanese but it was still a good movie.

3. How to Train Your Dragon

I can see why people think this is a great movie, the animation is great. The story is great. It was just a lot of fun to watch.

2. Forrest Gump

Why? Because. No seriously, not only was this funny, but it was greatly written, with awesome acting. I love it.

1. The Social Network

Man, this movie was phenomenal. The acting was awesome and the story was great to follow. Facebook mofos. :troll:
