Runouw Playlist
So. Grooveshark. Music site. Listen to things, compile playlists, express yourself.
And now they've got a collaboration feature. I'm still looking into it, but it seems like basically anyone with an account (don't worry, it's free) can save playlists and turn collaborations for that list on. Essentially this lets your friends onsite see your list and make edits... they can add to it, change orders of songs, and remove things.
Now everyone listens to music. It's universal, it's basic. It's the language of the world. So in a sense, your playlists can be viewed as a sort of fingerprint of your identity, something that describes you and that the world can understand. What if all our members collectively formed something that would represent our community? Obviously there'd need to be rules, and honesty, and there's probably limitations that we'd need to deal with, but I think it would be a cool thing to attempt.
Opinions, anyone?
Also, totally didn't know whether this should be in Media or what, since we don't really have a music forum... just move it and things if it's not actually in the right place. Thanks.
CHAU EDIT:
Important stuff down here
So, toying around with Grooveshark, Brando and I have successfully made a playlist. A few things to point out though.
-There is a couple minutes delay with the sync, so if you add a song on the playlist, other people won't be able to see it for a few minutes.
-The collaboration feature currently can not be accessed on the new Grooveshark format, but can be used in the retro format seen here.
-Because it's not accessed from the new one, I don't know if the retro version will last long, or if it will be in the new one. I hope it is though!
-NOTE: Don't subscribe to the playlist! For some reason, you can't edit as a collaborator if you're subscribed to it.
So basically, how it works is this. First you have to create an account. Then, you have to have mutual following with the person with the community playlist. Currently, that's me. So find me, (Aznchau4ever) and follow me, and make sure you know I know. Then I'll follow you back, and after that's done, I'll add you to the playlist. Afterwards you can add songs! Keep in mind that even if I notice right away, there's still a few minutes delay between the following and the adding into collaboration.

That's the playlist currently. I guess I would say this is just a beta version, and if there's any other options, I'm sure I'd be happy to try. But this seems like a fairly good program as far as I can see.
