Half the people who have watched it have already done it and everyone has gotten connie. Because it's a ♥♥♥♥ test.

Gee, I wonder if there's a reason why so much of the Steven Universe fandom gets identified with the socially awkward character who really loves stories. I wonder.

(That reason is almost certainly "because the test is terrible". Not surprised, either.)

I already read up on the canon mostly out of a sense of deep reverence for how goddamn great of a cartoon storytelling piece this is, but I've been watching episodes with Ani. This show is amazing. It truly succeeds at most of what it tries. I laughed, I cried, I squeed, and I only saw a few episodes. I think my favorite part of the show is actually Stephen, even j'adoring the gems in their own ways. Steven really does sound like a kid his age. It's just fantastic. Rebecca Sugar deserves a goddamn list of awards.

Yessss, Steven is definitely my favourite character too. My favourite Gem is pearl, but I love Steven's friendliness towards everything, even Peridot.

Nightmare Hospital: show
First of all, WHERE DID THE MUTATIONS COME FROM? Yes, they were found by the road, but that can be anywhere.
Second of all, wow steven hugging his mom's sword at the end, that hurt.
Lastly, omg yes Mrs Maheswaren finally is up to speed. I love her.

Oh yeah and the animation this episode, wtf was going on. That exaggerated animation, like the eyes, was weird. I loved it though. I just didn't like steven being pale as ♥♥♥♥.

I think the last part was mostly a factor of lighting, but maybe also because he's also ♥♥♥♥ scared out of his mind by the forced fusions?

Anyway, I feel like the two of them found by the road means that they're starting to emerge from the ground. The fusions in Keeping It Together were definitely released from their incubation(?) early, so now that they've had some time to grow and mature (didn't Connie say it had been a year since the episode where her glasses were fixed? so probably a few months at the very least, which would make sense if Peridot had planted the shards somewhat recently), they're starting to break out of the ground. Mostly I think it seems like they want to be put out of their misery in the same way that the original Cluster did, but I'm not sure...

hello friends: show
Okay so a couple things- do gem fragments even need to be "planted"? When the bubble in the sanctuary popped in Secret Team, they weren't, and still manifested pretty much immediately as apparently alive body parts. Peridot could've easily stole a ton of fragments from the Kindergarden (because it seems like the sort of place that would crush up and experiment with imperfect gems) or wherever and simply left them around to cause chaos for the Crystal Gems while she does more nefarious things. The mutant gem clusters aren't exactly tough enemies to a gem (or even a human familiar with them, like Connie) but they'd terrify and confuse the ♥♥♥♥ out of ordinary humans- keeps the Crystal Gems distracted trying to keep everyone calm, and also casts a negative light on them since they're already tied to that sort of supernatural stuff.

I've been waiting for Connie to get Rose's sword since the new intro, though. FINALLY.

But yeah, was wondering about the artstyle. Felt off from the start, but couldn't quite place it. It definitely is different, though, I suppose if you take such a long break from working on something, it can get a bit hard to make it look consistent.

Also completely off topic but I got Pearl in Frozen's quiz. Unsure how I feel about this.
