I'm switching my favourite artist / band a lot ... two weeks long I'm absolutely in love with one and then I listen to something completely else. Sometimes I also listen to a colourful variety on the radio.

Artists and bands I really dig (not german ones, german ones are probably not worthy to share) include

  • Dire Straits
  • Nickelback
  • Passenger
  • Sunrise Avenue
  • Take That / Robbie Williams
  • Reamonn / Rea Garvey
  • Milow

I already fell in love with so many artists, but I never really seem to keep the same pattern all the time.

Coldplay is the one I liked and still like for most of the time (when I get bored from one of their albums I just start listening to another one - this is probably not a sustainable way of music but I can't really help it). M83, Imagine Dragons, Queen and Kings of Leon are also my favorites. I also am listening to deadmau5 a lot, and sometimes, some System of a Down and maybe even Beatles (not really 100% fan, but they got some good material).

Also I don't limit myself to famous bands/artists. I really enjoy listening to soundtracks of movies/series/games (SU is a great example), and I'm always trying to listen to new stuff that appears on my YouTube suggestion box :P

There are also some really good brazillian artists I listen a lot too, but I don't feel like mentioning it here.

pls do

Anyway, I've been into a lot of ambient-type stuff for the past year, like Eluvium, The Album Leaf, Explosions in the Sky, and other similar artists. Other than that, I listen to whatever people around me are playing and generally can get into it, provided it's not pop our country which both inexplicably make my ears bleed. So on cytube, that's a lot of indie and video game stuff, maybe some vocaloid or anime/show/movie soundtracks (holy ♥♥♥♥ I just remembered that I've been listening to SU music like constantly for the past month), in the car it's usually 70s/80s rock, and I occasionally also listen to classical, though I used to listen to it more.

EDIT: Vague descriptors, more like post-rock (holy ♥♥♥♥ how did it take me this long to figure out that that's what it's called)

I think prog rock and psychedelic rock is pretty greatastic. I don't really listen to music on my own though, so I'll generally just listen to what people in my family have on or what people play on cytube.

Just going to say that I've started listening to a lot more indie rock and indie folk music lately, largely due to Raz and this amazing 9-hour(ish) playlist he linked me to. The biggest departure from my standard material is the fact that most of this stuff has lyrics, which I haven't really liked much before, but there's something about this kind of stuff that's just more interesting and pleasant-sounding than most music I've heard with lyrics. Not really sure how to describe it but I adore it.

That reminds me. I've been listening to chiptune, ambient, and punk a lot more than I have been. I'm also listening to a lot of Earthbound music especially Cave of the Past and Cave of the Present.

how the ♥♥♥♥ did i not see this already

Well, I guess I listen to a lot of classic rock (Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Rush, Queen, Jethro Tull, David Bowie, Styx, Boston, Fleetwood Mac, etc.) and hard rock (Motley Crue, Poison, Guns N Roses, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, etc.) Sometimes ambient and post rock music (Album Leaf, Eluvium, etc.) and EDM/Dubstep (far too many.)

Also, I listen to some Nu Metal (such as Linkin Park) and Grunge (such as Nirvana and Red Hot Chili Peppers.)

I sometimes listen to southern rock (Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, etc.) and jazz/classical (again too many to count :p)

And who could forget thrash metal? Megadeth...Metalica...Anthrax...Slayer...Not too big on this genre, but I still enjoy it.

Also, classic metal (such as Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Dio, and Iron Maiden) is a big one. Possibly my favorite genre.

I also enjoy 40s and 50s music (like Frank Sinatra.) I don't know why, but this genre has a connection with me.

And finally, VG music is a mainstay. Earthbound and Yoshi's Island had the best music ever in a video game, and if you say it didn't I will murder your family I respect your opinion. Also..like....who can't enjoy GF music? Or SU music?

Not really that huge on classic pop, but I can listen to it. Same goes for classic country.

So...yeah, that was all my musical taste condensed into a post. :p
