Wikipedia wrote:Anamanaguchi is a chiptune punk band from New York City that "makes loud, fast music with a hacked NES from 1985." The band has four members: lead songwriter Peter Berkman, bassist James DeVito, guitarist Ary Warnaar and drummer Luke Silas. Akin to other chiptune artists, Anamanaguchi creates music using synthesizers, albeit unconventional ones: namely a hacked NES and Game Boy. However, unlike most chiptune bands, Anamanaguchi employs live electric guitar, bass and drums on top of said synthesized music to create a fusion of digital and traditional sounds. From a technical standpoint, their music resembles that of video games from the mid to late 1980s; however, Berkman states that video games are not the band's only inspiration, as their songwriting is also driven by "simple pop stuff, like Weezer and the Beach Boys."
On March 26, 2010 at PAX East in Boston, the band announced they would be composing the music in the Ubisoft video game adaptation of the Scott Pilgrim franchise, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game. Their music also appears in the WiiWare title, Bit.Trip Runner.
So I found 'em through BIT.TRIP RUNNER (who would've thought THAT) and recently I got the original BTR soudntrack to enjoy these guys in best quality ^^
What's you fav song of them? Mine is either Blackout City (Part at 2:40 = <3) or Impetus from the BTR soundtrack (they didn't directly create it, but they were involved).
If you like 'em, consider buying the BTR soundtrack or their LP "Dawn Metropolis". You can watch them online, but eh, nothing is better than having it in best quality.
