Posted: February 29th, 2012, 4:39 pmPhotoshop is a pretty costly program that you have to buy. I have a pretty old version of it, myself. You're better off downloading GIMP, though I hear that it's a bit more difficult to get accustomed to. It also doesn't have all these really specific effects as I quickly scroll through and test the hell out of this. A lot of what you do would have to be pretty from scratch.

Should I just get GIMP and wait till I can get money for SAI since the free version was on megaupload?

I haven't tried paint tool SAI yet, so I'll have to check up on that. I look at some speedpaint videos and it really intrigues me, so I'd get SAI.
