Good. I'm glad it will be appreciated. Second, on the same scale, the cityscape behind it with no background and no menu. Enjoy! :awe:

I have to say, you've done a great job with the header so far (though it looks like the spoiler cut off some of your landscape :/ ). The logo in particular looks amazing. So while I'm not much of an art person, I can't wait to see how people plan to implement this into their work. Excellent job, Doram!

And this might seem a little off-topic, but I figure it's the best time to ask since I've been curious for a long time now: did you create your avatar?

No prob, Blab. :D It's art related. That art is actually my avatar from Gaia Online. I've been a member there for almost 6 years. (Wow? Really? Since 7/27/2005, evidently...) It was my home online before I made Runouw.com my home. I still go there for brief visits, but most of my free time is here now. One of the neat things they let you do is use your avatar in other places. In fact, the link they give you is for the dynamically updated graphic they use on their own site, so the one url will always show your current outfit. Have fun watching this change! ;)

Also, If you are referring to the spoiler showing the whole thing, I know it won't fit. The image is 2696 pixels wide. It won't fit on most screens period, much less in a post. If you want to see the whole thing, you will have to open it in its own tab/window. I put it in a spoiler like that, so that you could right click and save the thing. As for the missing bit of the buildings, that is actually where the menu goes. I had to cut it out to make the file size small enough to upload as an attachment. I'm making sure to upload these Runouw header images here, since they really don't pertain to the rest of the web. Most of the rest of the stuff I make will either go to imageshack for one-offs or my photobucket account for my level images and such.

These are all great, especially the larger version of 'Runouw.com'. The Cityscape is also really nice although it's cut off from the spoiler. But it's no problem since I can just view it in the attachment. Can't wait for more, Doram! Keep it up!

Thanks Avolerators. I'm really enjoying this, and I'm glad everyone else is too! I do know about the spoiler cutoff issue, and I do have my reasons for it. Check out the updates to the first post. ;)

Woo! Almost done! Here's the third part of the header: the Menu. It goes under the buildings on the left side. (The buildings graphic is not big enough to accommodate the appropriate placement of this. If you want to recreate the whole header, the blank should be 2876x798. Place the buildings all the way to the right, and the menu on the bottom and 34 pixels from the left edge. I'll add some instructions to the first post on this...)

Don't forget the first post will have a full library of everything that goes in this thread. Have fun all!

Hey, No problem at all. That's easy. I don't know if you've ever right-clicked on a flash game or anything before, but right at the top is usually an option to "Zoom In". When the graphics are made in Flash with vector graphics, they will just be scaled up, essentially increasing their resolution. Note that this does not work if the art was put into flash as a static rasterized sprite, in that case all you get is a blown up pixelly mess. Also, the option can be turned off by the author of the file. Both SM63 and LL have it turned off, for example, and your shortcut menu brings up different options.

Anyways, I just zoomed in twice, and did print screen a few dozen times and stitched them all together. Stitching them together is an art in itself. The best way to do that is to make sure there is a good bit of overlap, and that there is some angled detail in the overlap (most of the time, the windows on the skyscrapers served that purpose). When you put the new piece in your paint program (assuming you have one that can handle layers), you cut a small hole in the new part at the angled detail, and line up the sides and bottom/top of the detail in the stitched art with the same bits in the new part. It helps to zoom in a lot, to make sure it is pixel perfect. The best is when you have a letter or something that is perfectly square. Then it is easy to see if it lines up both horizontally and vertically.

I also worked extra hard to catch the buildings when they had the dark blue stripe behind their edges, so that when I knocked the background out, I was always knocking out the same color (making the edges of the buildings all match with the anti-aliased edges having conformed to the same BG color). THAT was a pain, as I had to do a bunch of sections multiple times to get the stripes behind them at the spots I needed, especially since the stripes get thin towards the top, and move fast.

So, I hope that answered your question. :ugeek:

First off, sweet.
Second off, would you mind if I sort of stole your layout for the first post? I like it, I think I could use it good.
