nin do things? wow

Looks pretty good. Also as terrible as I am at drawing in general, perspective is one of the things I'm worst it. So good job on that part.

Making a skeleton of your work is a good way to check perspective.
I did one for you because dunno: show

Also if you want to start animating always start simple. The ball bounce for example is a common practice for a reason. You could also try animating a slime or jello jiggling in place. Like this Image
Or you could draw a single object from different angles and put them together as a rotating animation.

Walk cycles are probably what you really want to learn and they're more complicated but still considered early practice and there are plenty of tutorials for it, so you could try working on that too.

I always do skeletons (though I simplified the process into a basic outline), but problems start when I start twisting parts that can twist. For that particular piece, I actually wanted my left hand to make a proper peace sign (palm visible) and yes, the wrist can turn that far.

The animation suggestions and advice are helpful though.

Awww! I LOVE your digital artwork! All of those effects are really cool :3
And yeah, perspective is one of the hardest things to deal with in drawing lol.

For anatomy you can always try to find reference pictures, or reference off your own body [the latter one works great with hands lol]. Also the skeleton system helps a lot. I used to think it was a waste of time but it actually helps haha.

So it's been a good year. I have a lot of things I started for my art class, some finished, some not.

This is neither of those. I wanted to draw the kancolle krew something special, and this is the first step.

I think viewing the underside of a pier is much more dynamic compared to an overhead view. Those are treetops in the background by the way.
Now I need to draw a cityscape and mountains, because I'm assembling the Runouw Fleet, not just some canned cola fleet. Yes, the hollywood-esque mountain sign will probably be there.

Also characters. Aznchau4ever/Chaukai as Ashigara, Lrmaster132/spookyghost/spukikaze as Kinugasa, Venexis/Vendai as Kirishima, fourinone as Akatsuki, Bam_0700/Bamsmarck as Bismarck, and yours truly as Ryuujou.
...google it.

Dang, this looks like a good start. I really love the water, looks kinda paper-y becuase of the white 'outlines', reminds me kinda of Paper Mario 2. Although the pier looks quite different :P

My only concern regarding your pier is that it looks like you put in a lot of time rendering out that water, but you probably want the focus of the drawing to be the fleet. So the only way I think you can approach this is either you detail the fleet enough to draw the attention back to them away from the water, or you tone the drawing down by flattening out some of values of the shading in the water. Other than that, it looks like a good start.

Ari- da na (thanks.) The plan is to transfer it over to digital anyway, so I don't think that'll be too much of a problem when I start the coloring process. I gotta say though, I have my line work cut out for me once I start transferring those...

The boards are probably way too thick, right? I find it ironic that I live a few minutes away from a boardwalk town and can't really recall what they looked like accurately.

So you might notice a few things that changed:

1. Title change
2. Lots of broken links are just plain gone now (it was all bad anyway)
3. Anchorlinks and organization
4. Uploaded physical portfolio

Go check it out.

Oh, I'm uploading one more thing later tonight, too.

Really nice portfolios. It looks better than my AP Art stuff they told me not to compare myself to others, but I can't help it. I like them. Heh, now I'm scared that I have to do that well in college looking at your college portfolio because I don't know if I can or if can get to that level.
