Whoa, calm down people. It is merely beta testing, there is just too much that I need to improve in this border style. Mostly due to the lack of specific resources.

By the way, BY's avatar that he requested earlier on the chat. ^_^

EDIT: I've just managed to get three awesome combinations for beta sigbars, which will be held a secret atm. Two of them are holiday themed (Christmas and Halloween).

That signature doesn't fit in my signature without looking really awkward D:

Probably because it takes too much space, and your signature already has a lot of stuff in it. While the usual final files have the dimensions 426x202, this alternate style demands 700x320.

By the way, beta update on the spoiler. =p

Problems like that are always screen resolution problems. I'm actually fairly sure it wouldn't be too hard to make smaller if he saved a .PSD with all the layers.

And so, this land of complete randomness completes a whole year of endurance tomorrow. Logically it should come along with great celebrations.

Well, it won't.

I am about to prepare my computer for a possible complete reset, which means I will need to terminate ALL projects except those that are close to completion, which are Raz's sigbar and the Halloween sigbar.

The thing is, this event was triggered due to... Um... You know how Windows is volatile when it comes to system integrity. I will try to convince my parents to prevent the fatal incident - aka the final Blue Screen of Death, which has taken place several times before, but without prejudice. It has very low chances of success, indeed.

Though it is not the end.

IT ISN'T!

All that I need to know is whether a moderator can help me to organise a vote in this topic - about the grand project I will work on during my computer absence.

If there are any details that you need to know before complete shutdown, you can reach me through this topic, PM and I can still access the chat on my mobile.

Arrivederci.

*cleans throat*

Well... as long as I am aware, the infected files have either:
  • disappeared with no apparent reason;
  • hidden themselves with some sort of stealth mode;
  • been made up by conflicting Windows updates. Meh.

Still, I will not terminate the defence mode just now, as the school year is about to end and I need to put some effort in it not to come across unexpected failures. It will all be done by the end of November, hopefully. =D

Now, what I was supposed to say... Oh yes, the great substitute project that should be announced on the sixteenth. No thread will be constructed for it just now, as it is hypothetical and needs a long preparation with timeline sketches and basic concept art.

Yet it still starts with a decision of the forum, by the forum, for the forum, EAGLE!

Welcome to the 1st Art Topic Anniversary Event!

The little project I was speaking so much about on the chat is... a submission to the Stories thread. A series, actually, that will need extreme planning to be done just right. There is just one problem...

TWO series concepts exist. I can only take up one of them!

Inside the two following spoilers there are basic overviews of what are, at the moment, the prologue of each story. Fear not, no characters will be mentioned.

There is a poll that will decide which story will be taken up. There's just one small issue... there is no known way I can create one within this forum board without advanced moderator/administrator intervention. Which is why the votes will either have to be sent by PM directly to me (Never will the messages trespass the maximum limit, no worries) or posted in this very topic.

EDIT: There is no deadline set until I either arrange some time to organise this thread or I get some feedback on it.

And after such a pathetic monologue, here are the concepts!

Vaalbara: show
On December 20th, 2012, a secret support space rocket was launched by the United States with two separate purposes: send additional supplies to the International Space Station and discover the fate of the Russian mission that had disappeared the day before. It was found out that an unidentified object, similar to a crystallized meteor, had hit the Eastern rocket soon after it had entered the upper atmosphere, and its fragments hit the Earth on the 21st, mostly on isolated areas. Studies conducted upon the fragmented meteor and spaceship suggested that the projectile was purely made of carbon, except of a human-like corpse that was enveloped by the stone and burnt with the falling meteor’s friction with the atmosphere. The fallen objects, however, were taken by an underground group which dealt with both science and religion, and its experts determined that the creature inhabited the primitive Earth about four billion years ago. Further experiments revealed that the stone emitted electromagnetic energy in subtle and variable intensities, which were interpreted by advanced decryption systems. It was revealed that in that time the Earth was inhabited by a humanoid species that, in a period of time that lasted three thousand years, they had managed to create an artificial stability through other planets’ species and bacteria of all kinds that could be kept without intervention, along with the Earth’s primitive life forms. It was first meant to be a planet that kept exiled individuals. Although, other civilizations considered the terraforming act dangerous and offensive, and responded to its resounding success with the complete obliteration of the humanoids’ home and only planet. The few thousand that survived the attack settled in Earth, which had been overrun by parallel governments and organizations. On the threshold of an all-out war, the planet slowly began to collapse due to a supernatural reasoning. As soon as today’s scientists learned about the purge, they found out that it was about to happen again. Their quest on the main story is to follow the steps of the previous civilization and find a way to save as many as they could from The End.

Royster: show
Against all odds and expectations, the human civilization managed to endure all the way into the 25th century, thanks to an exponential evolution of technology that started still on the 21st. Population decreased to four billion due to climatic anomalies, which were slowly corrected through time. In this hypothetical world, the year of 2463 was host to a revolution in medicine, with the usage of electrical impulses to increase the effect of medicinal substances. Ten thousand volunteers were simultaneously used as subjects for this procedure. However, while the final test was in progress, the Earth was hit by a solar storm that was mistakenly considered harmless. The electric energy’s intensity was temporarily multiplied a million times, which caused a temporary blackout on the entire world, which didn’t prevent the subjects to be hit by the discharge. None of them had died, but they had suffered a mutation which slightly increased their strength and reflexes. Not enough for them to be considered superheroes or peculiar, but it was soon found out that that mutation had happened in a pattern – which meant a new species was born. Countries took sides on the debate whether the new humanoids – kadiks, as they called themselves – were a danger to the human civilization. On the edge of a political war, a new peculiarity was discovered: the ability to control pure energy and transform it into the four fundamental elements. Most kadiks knew that it would put the entire planet at stake, no matter whether every last human had been wiped out in an incoming war, and chose to leave the solar system using stolen spacecraft technology from the space colony in Mars and inhabit a nearby system that had simply appeared a few light-years away, Folto, which was nowhere to be seen as soon as they settled there. On this peculiar system, though, the new humanoids, locked away from everything else, created a great civilization. The main story, thousands of years later, presents several groups of characters that endured through a civil war, witnessed Royster, an apocalyptic incident that obliterated nearly all existence on Folto, and lived beyond that episode, fighting for survival and a way to recover their pride.
By the way, The Twelve Steps, which was posted on the Stories thread, is inside this storyline. I shall not spoil anything else, though.
