She can fly around, almost like Iron Man does. This was mostly an excuse to try out a slightly more complex pose. I guess I could lose the smoke and it'd still look quite nice.

Looks like your fine details and proportion skills are coming along nicely. Next up is learning more about posing. I present: Line of Action!

• Line of Action - Mickey's Christmas Carol This article does a really nice job of covering the subject as well as related concepts of composition, staging, negative and positive space, and the relationship between these lines and the emotion of the character.
• Quick Tip: The Line of Action, Make Your Character Poses More Dynamic! This one is much shorter, but touches on the volume of the character in the last few images.

It's funny, but in the beginning of learning to draw figures, you spend a lot of time learning about anatomy and proportion, and while that IS important, once you get to this step, many times the advice is to stop worrying about all that stuff and simplify and exaggerate, and to a certain extent, it works, because at this point, you've internalized all that anatomy understanding, and now is your chance to push that knowledge to it's limits, and see how subtly making it wrong can actually ENHANCE a picture.

It's high time to kick off the dust again. New year, new drawings.

I felt like putting on paper some concepts that have been lingering around for quite a while now. This may or may not be a warm-up round.

Wizard Lapis: show

The one blue angel we all know well. Or is she?

I took a step forward from last year's avatar redesign and went for a wizard-esque approach, which was most definitely not based on Rise of the Guardians' Jack Frost.

There is no gimmick happening here; move along.

Long story short, she is a character based on the Queen of Clubs. She holds power over... books? Which actually is much more resourceful than it seems at first glance.

She is a recurring character in the Discord channel. I figured I should try my hand at practicing expressions, since Amber... didn't turn out so well. I was also meaning to come up with an alternate design for lil' Muffinhead for a while, now. It's two birds in one stone, and for one, I'm happy with the results.
