Most of us don't care to play multiple levels just to choose which one is best.

Well, we're not talking about the quality of judging of an LDC here, just which ones were particularly fun for you. Drop a name or two, we add it to a list, and we see how many agree. Done. I wish I had more time for playing levels. (Though I do have time, it's being spent on slamming the wiki through some compressed development time... Ahh... responsibility...)

Best Normal Member (Ordinary members who go above and beyond): Harmless. He's got to be one of the most active members on this site, if not the most. HES EVERWHERE
Best New Member (Passing on the torch): Bam. BAM. ...No, seriously. I agree that he already feels like a Runouw veteran to us.
Best Level Designer (Creator of worlds): AwesomeJRFD. You've got to check out his Last Legacy levels. The trigger work is just... wow.
Best Artist (Pretty colors...): MK. Seamless work, people. Literally, in fact.
Biggest Fanboy (Dangerous obsessions): Harmless with the Forum Games section. (I couldn't really think of much else, but I find him there a whole lot compared to most other users.)
Best Avatar (Awesomeness on the side): Harmless. It had to be nominated. (Toad freak-out ftw.)
Best Signature (Every post is cool): Bam. I can't help it. It always makes me smirk. It's the way it's sized.
Funniest Member (Laughter is the best medicine): Bam. Even if I don't get the joke, I know he has a good sense of humor.

At the time, I spent countless hours of my precious life to work on "the Essence of Time" (an LL level), even staying up to midnight several nights in a row anticipating the next phase of design. In fact, after already submitting it, I consistently refined it and made dozens of fixes over the following weeks. All in all, I apologize if the level is too long to sit down and play all the way through, but I'd appreciate it if you gave it a thought. It might be worth the time. (Speaking of fixes, I still need to fix the placement of that one rock at the end of the windy section. At least it is very minor. :p Hopefully I get around to it soon.)

I'm rather shocked that LL rules over SM63 so much in the Best Level category. Maybe these should be separated again.

And yes like Doram said, the levels that win this category are levels that delight a larger general public and not necessarily levels that have won an LDC.
