Naw, just kidding. But It wouldn't be for the better to make me judge. Trust me on that one.

On a plus note, can't wait for YB to post his ratings.

Noo, I was soo close to 6th. :? I'm not particularly proud of myself to be honest, but can I just ask, was it because my level was too short? If that was the reason I didn't do any better, then that's because I thought I wouldn't be done by the time I went on holiday, so I rushed it.

DETAILS: show

Killer Castle
by Zacky

Fun: 6.5 out of 10
This level was not too bad. I enjoyed the simple plat forming, although it seemed a little repetitive for me. Also, it seemed more annoying than fun when I had to guess my path through the pipes and I had to keep repeating the area, with no hint of which path to take. :x
Graphics: 4.5 out of 5
There wasn’t any cutoff whatsoever, so that was good. But maybe you could use more items like rocks and boulders, instead of using only tiles? The graphics to me just feel like they leave something to be desired.
Other: 3 out of 5
Nothing special, really.
Final Comments:
Overall, this level is fairly well executed. However, by changing up the design a bit and making the level seem less repetitive, it could be done even better.

Platform Hills
by mushroomario

Fun: 8 out of 10
I did like this level quite a bit. The only thing I wish…why couldn’t it have been longer? I would have loved to see more, but this level ended a little too quickly. But besides that, the level was creative: Well placed 1-ups, and I liked the little sequence of sling stars at the end. Nice job.
Graphics: 5 out of 5
Very good job with this, since I saw no cutoff and there was good scenery to match it all. Well done!
Other: 3 out of 5
Normal level, nothing to say.
Final Comments:
I think this was a good, pretty level. But don’t be afraid to expand on your ideas, cause bigger is better :D

Molta Tunnels
by Karyete

Fun: 6.5 out of 10
This level was pretty good, yet I felt confused while playing through. Several areas had the same falling pits, and this level didn’t feel as much plat former with the signs and the level’s build. Also, it was a bit laggy for a second. However, I did like it overall, and some of the ideas and challenges that went along with the level fit nicely.
Graphics: 4 out of 5
Not bad with the cutoff, but even the dead end traps need to look good, as some of them didn’t have much scenery in the background. Make sure that all areas are taken care of.
Other: 2 out of 5
You started Mario in the middle of the level by accident :P -1
Final Comments:
This level is on its way to becoming well done, as long as you focus on using more unique areas, and make certain parts of the level look nicer (as well as putting Mario in the right place).

Blocky!
by JSlayerXero

Fun: 6.5 out of 10
Eh, this level was okay. I liked how you did the thing with the sling stars and jumping from one to another. However, this level just didn’t seem to pop out at me. I liked it, but I didn’t love it. Maybe it was from the little amount of enemies?
Graphics: 1.5 out of 5
This is the bad part. I know you said it was meant to be a level and nothing special, but the thing is, it can’t hurt to add scenery to make your level look nicer. Without it, the level seems so…bland. If you want to place high, you’ve got to make your level look good.
Other: 3 out of 5
A normal level.
Final Comments:
Overall, this level isn’t too bad, but it could be better. The biggest thing to work on is the background, because it makes a level stand out from others. Working on that will help you in the long run of level designing.

Easy as ABC
by Doram

Fun: 8 out of 10
I enjoyed this level very much. It was a straightforward level, with just the right amount of challenge that I like. The level was designed well, and from beginning to end I had fun. Nice job!
Graphics: 3.5 out of 5
I liked the graphics, although there seemed too be too much space in between the trees when concerning graphics. Also, there was just the TINIEST bit of cutoff with a sign and some of the pipes.
Other: 3.5 out of 5
Nice use of creativity with the Press Maze. +.5
Final Comments:
This level was a job well done. Keep up the good work. :D

Follow the Butterflies
by ~MP3 Amplifier~

Fun: 7 out of 10
Let me start off by saying that the concept of following the butterflies to the end of the level was a good idea. However, I felt that the level was so straightforward, that the butterflies just seemed to be less helpful, as I would assume that there would be some obstacle that would confuse me and I’d need to follow the butterflies, but nothing like that happened. Regardless, this level was fun, as were the challenges.
Graphics: 5 out of 5
The level looked very nice, and I didn’t see a speck of cutoff.
Other: 3 out of 5
Nothing special.
Final Comments:
Overall, I liked this level. But maybe the butterflies were less helpful and more of a vanity?

Fire Zone
by Nworlds

Fun: 5 out of 10
This level was okay…but it just felt a little too repetitive for me. Since the level wasn’t too long, I judged on what was there, and I didn’t see too many varying things. A lot of the same kinds of platform challenges were in the level. Add some more variation to make the level more exciting.
Graphics: 3 out of 5
There wasn’t much cutoff, but on the flipside, there wasn’t much scenery either. You could have added more background objects to make the level look nice.
Other: 3 out of 5
Nothing special.
Final Comments:
This level was okay, but could use some changes. Variation and more scenery will do the trick.

Finis
by MessengerOfDreams

Fun: 6.5 out of 10
I thought this level had a nice premise. However, the idea just seemed a little too basic for me. I understand how you were trying to recreate an image in my head, but it was very similar to the SMB levels, so there wasn’t much challenge or big expectations. Although that’s not to say that the level wasn’t well thought out. The idea overall was good.
Graphics: 4.5 out of 5
Nice job with the graphics. Some area seemed to have a little more scenery than others, but besides that it was perfect.
Other: 3 out of 5
An ordinary level.
Final Comments:
Overall, I did find this level well done enjoyable, but it just didn’t seem to be as big an expectation than I thought.

The Great Sanctuary
by Republic

Fun: 8.5 out of 10
I loved this level. The challenges and plat forming style was well done. There was a little bit of lag in the level, but only the slightest. The creativity in this level was great. Usually I talk more about the bad things, but since there wasn’t many negatives, I just have to say well done!
Graphics: 5 out of 5
Fantastic job with the graphics. No cutoff, and lovely scenery everywhere. Well done!
Other: 3 out of 5
Nothing special.
Final Comments:
Overall, this level is great and is an example of a good level. Nice work.

The Other Side of Forgotten Land
by Koopa Yoshi

Fun: 6.5 out of 10
I thought this level wasn’t half bad. It was fun for the most part. Maybe there should have been more plat forming creativity, in the air as well as on the ground. But all in all, I did like this level.
Graphics: 3.5 out of 5
In terms of cutoff, the level had none, but there wasn’t much background involved. Scenery in a level shows effort, so be sure to add some next time.
Other: 3 out of 5
A normal level.
Final Comments:
This level is pretty good. If you add some more background and add to the challenges, however, it could be better.

The Haunt
by Oranj

Fun: 7.5 out of 10
I enjoyed playing this level quite a bit. At first I felt the enemy types were a little repetitive, but as I went on I changed my mind. The plat forming challenges are to my liking, yet it got a little annoying with some lag. Not too many enemies and the right amount of difficulty, though. From beginning to end, this level was well executed in my opinion.
Graphics: 4 out of 5
There was a little bit of cutoff with the five pipes, and I would have liked to have seen I little more scenery with cave plants and the like. But not too bad, I guess.
Other: 3.5 out of 5
Nice choice of music. +.5
Final Comments:
Overall, I did like this level. By fixing a bit of cutoff and adding more scenery, and reducing lag, this level will become fantastic.

Progression
by SuperMIC

Fun: 7 out of 10
For the most part, this level was fun. I think the areas with multiple paths were cool, and it would have been good to expand on those ideas. People like to make choices, and with more ways to choose from, the more fun your level is likely to be. Some of the plat forming areas were simple, yet designed well. A little lag, but not too bad. I think your level was pretty good.
Graphics: 4 out of 5
Same as Oranj’s level: A little bit of cutoff with a sign, and it would have been nice to see more scenery. However, the items that were here were placed well.
Other: 3 out of 5
Nothing special.
Final Comments:
This level is good, but by expanding on the multiple paths idea, fixing some cutoff, and adding a little more scenery, it will get even better. :3

Pyramid Of Time
by paperluigi

Fun: 7 out of 10
Hmm…I actually liked the concept of the same pyramid through time with several different challenges a lot. There was a nicely placed 1-UP. It was fun to play, although you could work on changing the items up instead of sometimes using triangle platforms many times in a row. However, I did like it, and I hope you can one day expand on the idea.
Graphics: 3 out of 5
This is what you need to work on. While there wasn’t much cutoff, there wasn’t much scenery either. A prettier level will give it appeal and make it more enjoyable to play. Always add nice background.
Other: 3 out of 5
Nothing much to say.
Final Comments:
Overall, not bad. However, work on adding scenery to levels. That will really give it pizzazz.

Grass Zone (Grassy Zone)
by Yoshi999

Fun: 6 out of 10
This level was okay. While I did enjoy the normal plat forming, I felt this level was a bit too simple. You could have user more variety in your challenges by using different items and platforms. But it wasn’t that bad overall.
Graphics: 4 out of 5
Although there was no cutoff, some places seemed more barren in scenery and background, while others seemed pretty. It’s good to have a balance of both, unless you intentionally planned to have an offset of scenery.
Other: 3 out of 5
Nothing out of the ordinary.
Final Comments:
I thought this level was a good start, yet it would be better to add some more objects and balance out the scenery a little.

The Road in the Sky
by Nero the DemonSlayer

Fun: 4.5 out of 10
Well, there’s not much to say about the level…it ends too quickly to say much. Even so, all there basically was was a few cloud platforms to jump on, and that was it. You should work on adding more to your levels, because in a contest, a short level with a few clouds doesn’t cut it.
Graphics: 3.5 out of 5
Eh…I know you took a bit of effort by putting a few vines and having no cutoff, but even the small ground areas should have some background too. Not too much to look at, even if the level is short.
Other: 3 out of 5
Nothing special.
Final Comments:
I think should try to work harder on this level, since there wasn’t too much effort involved. You could add more graphics as well. It needs some work, but it’s a start.

Goomba Valley
by King

Fun: 6.5 out of 10
I liked this level. Although it was a bit simple, I felt that the build of the level was done well. The plat forming was okay as well. All together though, it was enjoyable.
Graphics: 5 out of 5
This was done very well, not any cutoff I saw and the scenery was placed perfectly. Good job!
Other: 3 out of 5
A normal level.
Final Comments:
Overall, this level was pretty good. The level was fun to play, and the graphics were excellent. Not bad.

Danger Prymaid Pt.1
by gmdragon11

Fun: 5.5 out of 10
This level was okay…but there wasn’t that much to it. It feels like the level didn’t take much to add some platforms in a pyramid then quickly end it. I found this level a little enjoyable, though. But you could have added more platforms, more items to add to your level.
Graphics: 3 out of 5
There wasn’t too much cutoff, but in the pyramid, the background tiles seemed to clash with each other. Also, you could have used some more plants and trees in the scenery.
Other: 3 out of 5
Nothing too bad or too great.
Final Comments:
This level wasn’t too bad, but it didn’t feel like anything special. Add some more variety in your level, and make sure the graphics work together. Then your level will improve.

around the world
by Jellonator

Fun: 5.5 out of 10
Ugh…this level kind of annoyed me. Although there was some creativity with the going around the world thing, and some fun plat forming, the lag created by the enemies made it hardly enjoyable for me. A lot of enemies does not a good level make. Also, the ending…what was with that? O_o But yeah, I just didn’t think it was that great.
Graphics: 2.5 out of 5
Well…there wasn’t much scenery, and there was some sign cutoff…so that’s bad. You should add more to make your level better, and fix the signs.
Other: 3 out of 5
Nothing special.
Final Comments:
Overall, it would be good to work harder on this level. Take away some enemies, and don’t make a dead end like that as a finish, because that doesn’t make sense…then your level will improve.

Classic Mario, Revamped
by Myst

Fun: 7.5 out of 10
I liked this level a lot. The plat forming was fun and varied from beginning to end, and I especially liked the block platform areas and mini challenges this level had to offer. No lag at all, nice placement of objects…this is a grade A level here.
Graphics: 5 out of 5
Usually I like to see an overwhelming amount of scenery, but you placed the background items well enough where nothing looks barren. Also, I see no cutoff, so nice work!
Other: 3.5 out of 5
I liked the humorous signs and the little star minigame. +.5
Final Comments:
This level is great. I have no doubt it should place high in the contest, and if not a trophy, then definitely a ribbon. :3

Realm of the Heavens
by Volcove

Fun: 8 out of 10
This level is very good. I could see there were many innovative ideas put into this level, creating a great plat former-puzzle mix. The moving blocks were put to good use, and I didn’t find any lag. Also, I thought the challenges were fun and exciting. Nice job.
Graphics: 4.5 out of 5
I’m more lenient on this level since it’s not the type where scenery is supposed to belong here…but I still believe there were a few places where a tree or two couldn’t hurt. Anyway, as for cutoff, I didn’t find any problems.
Other: 3 out of 5
Nothing that really caught my attention.
Final Comments:
Once again, you have made a good, professional level, Volcove. Keep up the good work!

Mushroom's Edge
by NanTheDark

Fun: 6.5 out of 10
This level was very enjoyable. I liked jumping on the rooftops, climbing from building to building. However, it seemed a slight bit repetitive at times. But besides that, going into one of the buildings for a second then coming back out was a cool idea. This level is pretty good.
Graphics: 4.5 out of 5
No cutoff, and I liked the item placement, except for maybe one or two places that could have had some more background items.
Other: 4 out of 5
I liked the design of the helicopters, trucks, etc. +.5
The music fit very well with the level, and made it seem fast paced. +.5
Final Comments:
Overall, I enjoyed this level. Maybe by adding some more obstacles and challenges, you can build onto the rooftop segments and make the level even better. But nice job, though.

My 14th LDC Entry
by MICrophone

Fun: 7.5 out of 10
I really liked this level. Going to one area to get a star and going back to a previous area to access something new was fun. There was a variety of items and challenges to be found. The signs were humorous, there was minimal lag, and overall everything was done with creativity in mind.
Graphics: 5 out of 5
The level was designed very well, and there was no cutoff that I could find. Nice job making the level look pretty.
Other: 3 out of 5
A normal level.
Final Comments:
This level is very good. I hope you continue to make more good levels like these, MIC. ;)

World 9 - Ghost House
by Buffooner

Fun: 6.5 out of 10
I’ll start off by saying how I liked the entrance and exit were designed to look like the ones from Super Mario World. I liked the feel of the level as well, and it felt like a real ghost house. The level may have felt a little too simple with the platform jumping, but I did like some of the parts with the house, such as jumping on the Big Boo, racing with the switches…in the end though, some more challenge may have added to my excitement.
Graphics: 4 out of 5
I saw no cutoff. The scenery was fine for the most part, except maybe some areas in the cave could have used a bit more. Also, at the exit, I saw a random block floating in the air. :O
Other: 3 out of 5
Nothing special.
Final Comments:
Overall, this level is pretty good. With a little tweak of the graphics, and maybe more obstacles or challenges, this good level can become a great level.

In the Pipe
by Star king

Fun: 8.5 out of 10
This level was great. It made me feel like I was playing a level in NSMB, as everything had the appearance of an official Nintendo level. Everything was placed very well, and the plat forming was a fun experience too. I don’t really have anything negative to say about this level, so good job.
Graphics: 5 out of 5
The level looked spectacular. I didn’t see any cutoff, and everything looked pretty. Excellent work.
Other: 3.5 out of 5
Nice choice of music, it fit the level very well. +.5
Final Comments:
This level is fun, pretty, and sure to attract a lot of attention. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a medal-winner. Great job.

Just read all my comments. I actually can't believe I came 7th, I mean, a bit longer and it probably would've done a lot better! XD No worries, I'll get a ribbon at least next time.

Will do sporadic level reviews on request - PM if interested. I will only do one level at a time. I tend to be rather critical.
