Some puzzle levels are good. It's just that most of the time they come out as hard and almost impossible.

Lol what I read CrazyMario's post as a full-on rage, oh well saves me a job of asking you to change it.

On my phone right now but just saying Star that I personally think the judges were very unfair this LDC- the only score I agree with is Lordpat's. Also puzzle levels can be awesome; remember those puzzle rooms in HC? (lol just had to relate to SMA)

Uhm. I need to say the trophy spoilered a bit, lul. Read as: Wowowowowowowow. I won. I ♥♥♥♥ WOOON!!! :DDDDDDD
I never thought I could win this LDC. Even if it was close. Read as: I'm so happy to read this on christmas. YAY. :3
Just woke up. So I will get what happened here in the afternoon. Just wow. Read as: I'm tired and will cheer so freakin much because I needed a win after some time again. :3
Half of the things screwed everthing up, until I hated this level. I had awfully much luck this time.I could hate this more than Darkice Mines. HEY. Stop reading that!!!!!!!! Stoopid spy. :<

Judgings for top 6: show
Infernal Tower by KABOOM
Fun: 9.2/10 Yup. This level was ♥♥♥♥ awesome. The usage of fire towers was great, even if it is a bit similar too the usage of them in BY's ex-LDC entry for this LDC :P
The... boss was also quite nice. Not too easy or hard, you also had great success at making it harder every round. I really had lots of fun playing both parts, so great job.
Graphics: 4.3/5 The graphics in this level were pretty good too. In the 2 outside parts the tower could have looked a bit better but this actually was one of the best-looking tower levels I have played. Also, dat final area of part 2.
Other: 3.1/5 0: No lag, but (long) loading time.
+0.1: Boss needs more attention
+2: WOO PRAISING
-2: WOO POINTS REDUCTION
Overall: 16.6 --> 16.5/20
Unlike the last level I played from you, I really enjoyed this level overall and I was a bit surprised that this level was made by you, to be honest. Surely will also get a medal.

Sea of Fire by Volcove
Fun: 9.35/10 The level was hard. Very hard. But I somehow never wanted to quit because of its difficulty, I wanted to play more. I dunno how you made me do that, but you did and this level is great. It was too hard at some parts in section 3/4 but else it was a nice challenge.
Graphics: 4/5 Not there was very much graphic-wise, but it was very interesting seeing the lava flow with fire towers.
Other: 3.7/5 +0.2: No loading time and only lag in section 4
+0.5: The idea and the boat were really great. Perfect music choice being the level theme from Corona Mountain with a ♥♥♥♥ annoying boat in a ♥♥♥♥ sea of lava.
-5: Failed to praise me
+5: And idgaf the level is awesome enough
Overall: 17.05 --> 17/20
A very nice and fast-paced level which will surely place high in this LDC.

Underwhere by blackyoshi
Fun: 9.1/10 This level was really fun. You used a great variety of different challenges without making the level annoying or frustrating. I really liked the wheels, I wish you would have done a larger level with them :3
Graphics: 4.75/5 Those graphics. Are. ♥♥♥♥ awesome. You used a lot of tile variation without making it look bad and those wheels look pretty good. What's missing? Something like the Light Bridge in Dark or that Machine room in Antichesm (whatever the level or room was called), something mindblowing and maybe even insane.
Other: 3.65/5 +0.45: No lag and only short loading time
+0.25: Wheels.
-0.15: The checkpoint is visible from the beginning.
+0.1: Awesome usage of flame towers, as always.
Overall: 17.5/20
Highest score I gave this LDC. Congratulations on that for a "rushed" level ;)

Volcano of Irony by Karyete & MP3
Fun: 4.5+9.5/2=6.5/10 Part 1: Jumped around happily and thought "yep, this will be one awesome level again", but then I entered the volcano. It started with me thinking "well, this was crazy" so I passed over the first burning cold lake, jumped on the platform and I do not know what happened but I suddenly was in the next section. I mean, wtf. I don't like getting tossed around :<. The rest of the level was basically the same and a few short sections where you can actually do something normal. Then more tossing and suddenly level is finished. At least graphics were cool again :3
Part 2: No getting tossed around, cool challenges and nice flame tower usage really boosts up your fun score. Great job, Karyete.
Graphics: 4.9+4.25/2=4.625/5 Part 1: Graphics are awesome once again. The same procedure as every year LDC.
Part 2: Most of the level looked great as well, especially the flame towers, but the part with the floating logs, especially the area where you come out at looks pretty boring,
Other: 2.2/5 0: Short loading time, lag
-0.25: Checkpoint is visible from the beginning
+0.25: Those wheeeeeels
+0.2: Those big fluffy clouds :3
-0.5: In the room with the floating platforms and burning cold water you can take a shortcut by jumping into the water and up to the green platform where you actually are supposed to have the Metal Star from the next room. Ruins the story.
-0.25: Didn't really see the sense in having those green blocks and platforms under them.
+0.25: Great flame tower usage in part 2
-0.5: I don't really see how part 1 and 2 are connected. Especially with the red coin hunt.
Overall: 13.125 --- er.... ♥♥♥♥. It's right in the middle. But it still gets rounded up to 13.25. So --> 13.25/20
Wow. I never expected to give such a "low" score to one of you two.

Asphodel Temple by Star king
Fun: 7.25/10 The level was okay, but then there was that room. The one before the invisible stars. That was a very annoying room, you know. Because resetting the room resulted in getting a crash everytime I had to go left. And that Shine Sprite that loeaded in every section because of the red coin. So ♥♥♥♥ annoying. After some tries I at least got the idea of not closing the bottom green switch. Worked pretty good :3 The final room was okay. Didn't beat it after dieing twice from stupid mistakes, but you had really good ideas in this level.
Graphics: 5/5 AAAAAAWWESSSSOMMMMMMMEEE. Pf, don't have to say more :3
Other: 3.25/5 +0.6: Dat puzzles.
-0.5: Dat loading times.
+0.25: Great use of Koopa shell minigolf. Didn't know that could happen.
-0.1: The red coin at the beginning is as useless as ♥♥♥♥ :3
Overall: 15.5/20
Not your best level looking at the fun category but still a very nice puzzle level. WITBLO13 entrant?

Melty Magma Lair by MegaR
Fun: 8.25/10 Actually quite fun. It's almost impossible to die but it's not easy. Like the level above. Just with less puzzles. And less size. I even spend 2.5 minutes in the level, so it's not too short. So great job at making a good 50x30 level!
Graphics: 4/5 The tile usage was nice. Also decorated very well. Like the level above. Just with less tiles. And less awe.
Other: 3.5/5 +0.5: No lag or loading time
-5: Being a judge and still not praising me
+5: Didn't take points away from Arceus too :3
Overall: 15.75/20
Hi.

Fun: 7/10 This level was fun, but not interesting to play. The most challenges repeated without changing or didn't last long enough.
Graphics: 3.75/5 The level looked good. Sometimes there was decoration missing.
Other: 3.4/5 +0.4: A bit loading time and no lag.
Overall: 14.15 --> 14.25/20
First level from you I actually like :P



Still won't post the real results announcement or the table.

Especially because you apparently don't even care about that

Well guys, it is hard to say which level is objectiely better, since this is art. Sure, maybe some of the judges were a bit very strict. But the thing is, sometimes it is important to bring other types of people to judge rather than experienced designers. It is another point of view, and I don't think it should be disrespected.

Also, guys please read the reviews (at least mines, I took a bit more time to judge for a reason). They don't only contain tips to fix the level, but also valid opinions that should not be overlooked.

Still, I think this LDC was very sucsessful. Sure, the levels were not all a supah masterpiece, but I have seen many new faces and quite some good levels too. Honestly, as long as people had fun, this LDC worked. And I think people did. It had lots of entuthiasm into it and I believe that we all did what we could, and that is far more enough. Congratulations Nwolf for hosting this LDC, I think you did a great job, even if they are so confuzzled now.

Congrats to blackyoshi for winning, Sk for making the best ♥♥♥♥ puzzle level ever in my opinion (but damn those jumps were annoying) and the rest of the top 6 as well.

.....I'm so happy with myself right now :3 I'm particularly happy with Nwolfs comments on my flame tower usage. But I still think MP3's level was brilliant in its own way. And MP3 did assist me with the graphics in my level a lot, so give her some applause too :D

I think that was a fun collab. Nice working with you, MP3 :3
