Re: 1st Official Last Legacy Level Designer Contest

That's weird, because I didn't have any issue with playing this level. The only trouble I had was manipulating physics properly in a few places, because it took me way too long to figure out part of the clock involved manipulating the physics engine to give the player a boost in horizontal momentum. Well, that and realizing I was supposed to drop down at the water bit. Point is, it was me getting stuck for reasons other than glitches.

I just went back, played through the whole level again to confirm, I didn't have this problem. All I had to deal with was some lag from having multiple Youtube videos open in the background. So, does this mean your computer can't handle the level or something?

Edit: I guess this means JRFD stepped into the Sax Man's territory now. Lovely. Absolutely Marvelous.

Edit 2: What's funny in a rather twisted way is that it's JRFD's fault for a good chunk of their level's inconsistencies, being that he made papertest, clocktest, piratetest, and somehow thought they'd all fit into one level. That's not even all of what he threw into this.

It should be able to handle it. Pretty sure actually. Example would be the mirror part. After breaking it, it threw me into the next gap or somewhere in the beginning I've suddenly been in some empty room falling down and dieing.

Big thank you to FrozenFire who created this masterpiece. : )

Huh, sounds like that incident with Timi's level back during the Mini-LDC, where I jumped at just the wrong moment and ended up right above the exit where I couldn't possibly do anything other than quit and reload the level. It's possible that you moved or something, disrupting the cutscene, resulting in you being sent somewhere that's not supposed to be possible. I just break the mirror and let go of the keyboard until I'm back at the main hub area. With Timi's level, I just had to sit still after beating up all the crabs. Maybe your lack of knowledge on the ctuscene produced an unforeseen glitch in the system as did Timi's level?

Sorry guys, I don't think I'm going to be able to judge. Maybe Xero or someone can take over?

I already finished sending in my ratings to Runouw a while back. In the event you weren't able to pull it off, I could replace you. In the event you did pull it off, I would've taken the 4th judge spot. Since you're dropping out, and I assume the other ratings are already finished, at this point, the only thing left to do would be to announce the results.

Did you judge our level? If you did, does it count?

Also, what did you mean before about it having a terrible plot? There is absolutely no plot, except for The ending sequence (and the Bloody Forest section if that even counts as plot).

My idea about combining separate mini levels into one was because we were low on time and so different people in the group could work on separate parts without having to worry about conflicting ideas and stuff. That's why there was no real recurrent theme except for darkness.

I know there are some flaws which I will attempt to fix in the portal level, such as the player not knowing to go downward in the ocean (I'll put some Squares in an arrow shape), and the lag and lack of hazards in the tree climb place (that was going to be a boss battle of some sort, but I decided to skip it because it would take too long (I know, I know :p)).

-KT, I've never had that problem with the mirror breaking part before, and I must have tested that about a hundred times. :p

Judged. I can't say at the moment if it counts or not..

AwesomeJRFD wrote:Also, what did you mean before about it having a terrible plot?

That might just be my personal bias against Bloody Forest speaking. I tried everything I could to prevent that from getting into my rating though. At this point, I'm not sure if my rating should count or not.

Papertest had a very white darkness I must say. Even if you said that so that we could all work on something different, it still feels incoherent without the plot. However, I can't say that's entirely unmerited, given I know what it's like to suffer fever dreams under influenza. I still stand by that what plot exists doesn't fix everything.
