Aaand it seems that I'm out.

There's going to be a huge event IRL, and it's obviously on the deadline.

Just a forewarning anyway-

We may have to have an extension on this LDC overall anyway, because at the end of the month I will be setting up the Halloween forum once again, with mini-contests and mini-LDCs etc. For the amount of days the mini-LDC will be open, I will be allowing as an extension for everyone in the LDC because this year it clashes. For the past 2 years we've been lucky and nothing has clashed but this year it's different soo yeah.

I'm gonna take this extension no matter how long it is.

I've originally said I don't wanna do that much in this LDC but as the story and all the stuff is planned out, I see that I wanna do much more (but hopefully without lag and frustrating parts).

Btw maybe the first act will have the largest level code in history. I wonder which level has the longest code right now.

The Essence of Time took up 60+ pages on Word, in font "Times New Roman," size 8. I thought it wouldn't get accepted on the LL website, but it did, thankfully.

Can you beat that? :p

Having the largest level code ain't a good thing...it just means you've got less room for your post, or perhaps no room if it's that huge.

But that's in LL. In LL codes are usually longer, because of all these trigger codes and crap.

In SM63 it's probably different. My longest code (SMA World 4 - Hanmeus' Castle) is just more than 9 complete pages with the same settings, and 68,141 characters long. It contains 2 blosses, a whole bunch of bullet bills, one snake platform, two versions of the same big room and 10 versions of a tiny room (for a puzzle) and rotating blocks and flame throwers everywhere, and is 982 tiles long. In SM63, I doubt it's possible to go that further without crashing, so I would say 10-15 pages is like a maximum for a playable SM63 level

Anyway, like MP3 said, going for the longest code isn't the best idea. Remember the first rule of Level Designing: Quality over quantity. Buff won the 20th LDC with a Pure-Platformer, crushing two huge level series, one of them contained the level I mentioned above
