For ♥♥♥♥ sake, Super, are you hearing yourself? You're getting so worked up over a bloody Level Designing Contest, because you can't just man up and take the scoring for what it is. The rules apply to ♥♥♥♥ everyone, so quit the "pity me" act. I'm getting real sick of it, and I'm sure everyone else is.

And I apologise for the anger, but seriously, this just needs to stop.

We all know that LDCs aren't really LDCs if they don't come with their drama and their arguments here and there. And also still try not to double post just cuz there's a 10 minute gap between those two posts.

Sorry for the double post.

But if something like this is going to be directed towards me;

Supershroom wrote:Wow. Harmless' review for mine is even longer than in the 27th LDC. All I can tell is that the area with the red tiles / bowser tiles was playtested very deeply. Timing really shouldn't be a problem, and you can try infinitely many times instead of dying.

I guess all I should do is accept this and maybe really try to do something very simple next time, even if it's against my style. Maybe something in the way of Yuri's Snow Forest (aka creating my own one, lawl). But please, future judges, learn this, I really care about testing my levels. Try searching the causes rather on your side than on mine at first if you're frustrated with something.

I think I would answer.

As if Supershroom wasn't the initiator with his overly-aggravating ego, yes.

Speaking of which, Harmless' last three posts have truly been offensive for me.

Are you really trying to say that me asking you to stop your offensive ♥♥♥♥ to MoD and myself is now offending you?

When there's a repeated issue, that we've tirelessly tried to resolve over and over and it gets to the point where all it seems like people are doing are adding unnecessary fuel to the fire, then I think in those circumstances, ignoring it and moving on is the best way to stop it from continuing. By all means solve it and talk about it if it's something we need to fix, but really all that's happened here is someone's level placed a lot lower than they wanted it to, and this happens nearly every LDC.

The way around it is to just read the judgings and apply their suggestions for improvements to the next LDC, constructive criticism as painful as it can feel sometimes is an amazing thing really. It means that person actually wants you to improve, and is telling you directly how to. I would listen to it, as I have done every LDC I've been in.

Wait, am I hearing you right? When someone repeatedly attacks our character the best action is to take it as no mod intervention happens?

Okay, apparently I was a ♥♥♥♥♥ before and now I have to be an entirely different definition of ♥♥♥♥♥ now.

I dunno, I'd still rather address the issue, it'd be kinda rude to just ignore being publicly addressed. Especially if I was a judge.

Agreed, mostly because I really hope Supershroom reads this and understands what we've been trying to tell him this entire time.

There is already an intervention taking place behind the scenes that we are already taking care of, and I'm already looking into possibilities for punishments truth be told. I'm just saying to stop it from progressing to the point where we may have to take action against more than the few people involved, stop the conflict here now, otherwise it may as well just go downhill.

If you guys want to talk about it in a civilised manner, be my guest. But having a flame war is not going to solve the problem.

Yes. Now take a look. Do you think all these posts are in an "orderly manner" for you?

The conflict started because of you, but both you and Harmless are wrong. Supershroom, should you really complain about others judges' opinions not being exactly like yours? Just because you took a great amount of effort in the level and thought it was really good, doesn't mean the judges can give you a low score on Fun because of loading time, or because you didn't have interesting platforming concepts. And even so, it's possible to see people who actually gave you a good score because they liked the level. But, to be perfectly honest, every judge had an actual reason to give you a certain score. Nobody just looked at your level and simply said "Oh it's a Supershroom level, rate it 0/20". And Harmless, there was also no reason to call Supershroom a bully. Even if he's apparently sticking to one opinion, it's not your job to say he's wrong and call him a bully for that.

I can't get enough to say to you it's a matter of opinions. You created the level, and you are proud of that single part with the red evil bricks that push you to the ground? That's good. But someone will always find something to complain about it. That's the job of the judges. They can look at your level through different perspectives, and that's better than keeping one only point of view as the ultimate truth.

No, I called him out because he was saying MoD was acting like his total ♥♥♥♥♥ self from 2012 when all he was doing was questioning Shroom's logic in his post.

Never ever said that. All I said was that MoD also already ranted against a judging of his level, which he had all rights to do so, no matter if he was right with this or not. Not stating an opinion towards this. Meh, that was a side note referring to the past.

Others may simply say such things and I may not.

Rating standards: show
1 star: (0 - 5.75 in LDC) These levels need a lot of work. They're totally un-elaborated, and/or inherently flawed due to things like cutoff or enemy spam, or they're untested and there are too many bugs gameplay-wise, in short: Many many things went wrong in such a level.

2 stars: (6 - 9.75) These levels are not terrible, but poor. They're too short, lack scenery or they have errors and/or bugs but it's still barely enjoyable. Again, spend more effort and try to do better. (if it's your first level that I rate two stars, it's not bad. There's a long way you can still go)

3 stars: (10 - 12.75) These levels are about mediocre. They may be still a little bit short, the gameplay is fine but not very original and graphics are also solid, but not breath-taking. Try to keep improving!

4 stars: (13 - 15) These levels are nice, but not the best. Effort has been put into them, there can some professionality be seen in gameplay and graphics, they're a nice experience to play, but there are still things you can do to make it even better. Try to go the extra mile!

5 stars: (15.25 - 20) These are really great levels, those which, as said, I would give more than 15 in an LDC. These suffice many high requirements, and it already goes into subtleties if you want to make them better. These levels are successful all around. Bravo.

These are just general principles I try to follow when rating. Sometimes I don't leave a further comment when rating, most times I do, if you have questions about it, feel free to ask further.
