Rating standards: show
1 star: (0 - 5.75 in LDC) These levels need a lot of work. They're totally un-elaborated, and/or inherently flawed due to things like cutoff or enemy spam, or they're untested and there are too many bugs gameplay-wise, in short: Many many things went wrong in such a level.

2 stars: (6 - 9.75) These levels are not terrible, but poor. They're too short, lack scenery or they have errors and/or bugs but it's still barely enjoyable. Again, spend more effort and try to do better. (if it's your first level that I rate two stars, it's not bad. There's a long way you can still go)

3 stars: (10 - 12.75) These levels are about mediocre. They may be still a little bit short, the gameplay is fine but not very original and graphics are also solid, but not breath-taking. Try to keep improving!

4 stars: (13 - 15) These levels are nice, but not the best. Effort has been put into them, there can some professionality be seen in gameplay and graphics, they're a nice experience to play, but there are still things you can do to make it even better. Try to go the extra mile!

5 stars: (15.25 - 20) These are really great levels, those which, as said, I would give more than 15 in an LDC. These suffice many high requirements, and it already goes into subtleties if you want to make them better. These levels are successful all around. Bravo.

These are just general principles I try to follow when rating. Sometimes I don't leave a further comment when rating, most times I do, if you have questions about it, feel free to ask further.

My level's now in a state of completion, but I'm just gonna keep testing it for bugs and minor problems. Enjoy looking at an unpolished, linear, boring and unoriginal level. :>

Even if I haven't a chance of winning anything, though, I'm still damn proud I made a level for this LDC, especially since I haven't touched SM63 in months.

Well, if you want to know the deadline where the levels will be judged and the results announced, it'll be March 28th.

Also, please just use the Level Vault to post levels for the LDC. If you're doing a level for this LDC, then you should edit your last post there and add your level.

It's really awesome that you want to enter. Make sure to read all the rules in the first post of this thread and do a level that fits the theme! Maybe you can earn a medal!

Technically, the last day to enter a level is March 28, but judging can take a while after that, and the results are posted at the end of that part, sometimes as much as a month+ later.

As stated in the first post, Grasslands is far more than just old boring unoriginal grass levels, it comprises far more than you think, you can think of grasslands in the sky, in the underground, in a dark landscape, or even in a fiery landscape (--> Avo's Shroomsday).

I appreciate that you decline very politely, but next time you don't want to join, better say nothing at all because it's not necessary, but who knows, maybe we'll see you soon!

EDIT @Raz this applies mainly for those who never joined LDC's before, not for renowned veterans like MoD SK etc. Just think how LDC topics could be flooded if many occasional LDP posters or newbies say "I'm not joining".
