Runouw Votes X: New Year 2015/16

Yup, it's this again. I'd love to say it's the tenth annual (or tenth biannual) event but we really haven't been too consistent on that, sorry. So this'll just be the tenth. And it's the end of 2015. You may or may not remember our obscenely hemispherist event from a year ago, hosted by Raz, and our other one a few months prior, hosted by Ven. But no matter, we've seen quite a bit go down since the start of 2015, including most notably the massive Runolympics site event, spanning several months of the year, along with numerous other things, so hopefully this'll be good.

Runouw Votes is our forum's awards ceremony, where we recognize outstanding contributors to the site community and the biggest achievements we've made as a whole. Everyone on the forums is eligible to vote, and everyone is eligible to be voted for.

But how does it work?

---

The event is split into two phases: nomination and voting. The nomination round is where everyone has the opportunity to tell us who or what they think should win each category. There'll be about two weeks for nominations, and then all the nominees get compiled into a list and the voting round starts. A poll will be set up where you can vote for who you think should win. Whoever gets the most votes after around two weeks of voting earns this shiny little trophy:


But before we get there, we need some categories...

Pretty much all of these are returning from last year, but don't worry, because they're good categories.

Copy this list, and put it into your post. Add your nominations and a reason for each one.

There are a few simple rules for your nominations. If you don't follow them, your nominations won't be counted, but they're pretty easy, so bear with me:
• No self-nominations. You can promote your work around the forums to convince others to nominate you or vote for you instead.
• As stated before, make sure you give a reason for each of your nominations. Link to a piece of your nominee's work, and also just write a few words, a short sentence or two, or even an entire novel to explain.
• Make sure your nominations all are active or took place after the last RV awards in December 2014.
• No leaving more than three categories blank. Give it your best shot at who you think deserves the vote.
• Keep your nominations in one post. The Edit button exists for a reason.

And remember: Don't get frustrated with not getting nominated. Being more active on the forums will help a lot if you want to be a winner. But in the end, this is all just for fun, and you shouldn't take it too personally.

Getting this started!

1. Best Moderator (For our outstanding Moderators and Global Mods): Doram, this one is obvious. Not only the Runolympics, but especially a lot of site maintenance being done with his coding experience.
2. Best of the Other Staff (Level Mods and Site Reps who deserve special recognition): Venexis, he is always approachable for me and also serves a great job for the SM63 scene, and often reliable when it comes to judging.
3. Best Normal Member (Ordinary members who go above and beyond): Vesoralla, for an awesome comeback and being active in, like, all areas, and NanTheDark, I'm not fully sure on who to vote for here but I give a shot for him just for winning RO with his team, and being a relaxed person in general.
4. Best New Member (Passing on the torch): My fellow Team Super members Jumbo101 and FluorescenceLight. Enormous contributions to the LDing scene and whatnot.
5. Best Level Designer (Creator of worlds): Just by measuring the amount of activity and ratings from others, it's Jumbo101.
6. Best Artist (Pretty colors...or sounds, or words): I've always promised FrozenFire to be nominated here, his sigs and banners and all of that are self-explanatory. But also don't forget MessengerOfDreams with his ROAC winning story.
7. Biggest Fanboy (Dangerous obsessions): lordpat for loving math so much <3
8. Best Avatar (Awesomeness on the side): MessengerOfDreams and Raiyuuni - just taste reasons.
9. Best Signature (Every post is cool): ~MP3 Amplifier~ - do I have to explain that?
10. Funniest Member (Laughter is the best medicine): Well, there are quite many people who are always good for a joke ... but FrozenFire's sarcasm is quite biting.
11. Master of a Hidden Talent (Don't underestimate me!): Apart from the people with singing skills ... I give a shot for Jumbo101 and his very innovative level design, because why not.
12. Most Notable Site Friendship (Awwwwwwww~): FrozenFire / lordpat / Raiyuuni. Notable South America trio.
13. Biggest Accomplishment (On site or off, we get stuff done... sometimes): Doram for the Runolympics, if that counts? But also Raz and others for moving to Discord.
14. Best Level (be it Last Legacy or SM63!): Necropolis Tomb by Forgotten, this one is pure awesomeness.

2. Best of the Other Staff (Level Mods and Site Reps who deserve special recognition): This one's hard, but I am going with OJ. He is always trying to do the best he can, and I think it shows (as in, he's awesome). Also he's hosting this even : )
3. Best Normal Member (Ordinary members who go above and beyond): I am going with Bam. He's very active and just an all around nice guy to be with.
4. Best New Member (Passing on the torch): Thelifeproject aka Julian. I mean, I know he registered a few days ago, and I think by the little things you noticed, you can say he's a pretty cool guy. And he is, he's a super cool guy. Completely biased, but the idea of this is to be biased.
5. Best Level Designer (Creator of worlds): FF, while he has not been LDing lately, some of the stuff he made was really amazing. Also LL.
6. Best Artist (Pretty colors...or sounds, or words): Again FF. He makes some amazing sigs and avis, one of which I am using right now.
7. Biggest Fanboy (Dangerous obsessions): I'd like to say the entire SU community, but that would be sort of self voting, so if that's not allowed, Raz with superheroes.

10. Funniest Member (Laughter is the best medicine): Tough one because nobody is funny, but I am going with Bam. He succseeds to make me laugh.
11. Master of a Hidden Talent (Don't underestimate me!): FF, with singing. He sings really well, and I wasn't expecting that.
12. Most Notable Site Friendship (Awwwwwwww~): I'd say OJ and Bam. They get along pretty well.
13. Biggest Accomplishment (On site or off, we get stuff done... sometimes): This should be caled "Runouwlympics wins". Really though, RO was really hard and even if it didn't turn out perfectly, I think it deserves a lot of credit and recognition.

I don't think I'll do nominations this time...I don't wanna leave people out and tbh the ones I feel really strongly about getting an award have already been nominated.
Soo...I'll just vote when the poll comes.

1. Best Moderator: Doram - I appreciate pretty much everything you do. Not only your work with the forums, but also the constant wish you have to change more. 10/10.

2. Best of the Other Staff: Oranjui - He's usually quite active with most subjects in the forum. A really good guy to talk about any suggestion with, not to mention he has also been acting great behind the scenes.

3. Best Normal Member: Lordpat/Vesoralla. - Uh, it was so freaking hard to decide between both, so I'll stick with them all. One is really clever, good at math and amazing to talk with. The other is so damn nice, useful, good at art and fabulous at LDing. Don't ask me to choose one because I won't. <3

4. Best New Member: bowser07 - Pretty cool dude that casually stays around in the chat and is nice to talk with.

5. Best Level Designer: Niicola - Dude, with all the interesting stuff you created in LL, and the possibilities you opened for everyone, it's impossible for you not to win this award.

6. Best Artist: AniLo - Hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng. Nothing else to say. (No but seriously Ani, you are simply a drawing godess, your drawing techniques are ♥♥♥♥ perfect. You deserve 100x more recognition than you currently have.)

7. Biggest Fanboy: Supershroom with Super Mario 63 - He's a ♥♥♥♥♥ for SM63. I feel like if SM63 was a person he would be his slave. Actually, he is already, so nevermind.

9. Best Signature: Asterocrat - I secretly have a huge knack for his sig.

10. Funniest Member: MK - MK makes me laugh. Not because he's funny. But because his existence is hilarious and is objectively a humorous topic.

11. Master of a Hidden Talent: Vesoralla - Showing good potential with drawing recently. Who knows, someday, he'll turn into another Art Goddess.

12. Most Notable Site Friendship: who even gives a ♥♥♥♥ about bam and oj nowadays

13. Biggest Accomplishment: Runouw ♥♥♥♥ lympics - Even though it was a flawed event and some people died in the process, there's no doubt it's a great mark in Runouw's history.

14. Best Level: nah man

1. Best Moderator (For our outstanding Moderators and Global Mods): Doram. He had to take up a hard position in Suyo's absence with a very abrupt process and it was handled really well.

2. Best of the Other Staff (Level Mods and Site Reps who deserve special recognition): Oranjui. I respect his passion immensely.

3. Best Normal Member (Ordinary members who go above and beyond): Veso. Very biased because he knocked out two levels in two days which is ♥♥♥♥ incredible.

4. Best New Member (Passing on the torch): I've got no clue on how the calendar of newbiness works. Uhm, Jumbo101? He's cool.

5. Best Level Designer (Creator of worlds): Venexis. What a bang-up year to be Ven as a designer.

6. Best Artist (Pretty colors...or sounds, or words): FrozenFire would be the designer of a generation in any setting he's in.

7. Biggest Fanboy (Dangerous obsessions): Raz and everything is trite yet accurate.

8. Best Avatar (Awesomeness on the side): FF

10. Funniest Member (Laughter is the best medicine): Venexis

11. Master of a Hidden Talent (Don't underestimate me!): Who was the kid who won best member of the Runolympics? That kid. He deserves it.

i am so out of touch

I really wouldn't say Jumbo is a new member. He was acceptable during the RV I hosted in the winter but he's more than a year old forum-wise. During my RV I just broadened that category to allow actual nominations, but we have definitely had enough new members to justify bringing the awards back to the whole since-last-RV thing.

Don't think I'm voting this time. I feel too bad about leaving people out. Good luck to you guys!
