When I started out on Dark, I had one intent in mind. I told myself "MoD, here's what you do- you need to make a level unlike any other that has ever been created before."

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to Dark.

I'm sure most of you are familiar with this piece by now, but for any newcomers, here's a quick lowdown.

Plot:
This five piece miniseries follows an amnesiac as he wakes up in an unfamiliar world shrouded in darkness, and feels a deep need to find a way to restore light to it despite knowing not even his own name. This adventure leads him throughout the land as he tries to find reasons, find an escape and find himself.

Accolades:
Winner of the 18th LDC with one of the highest scores recorded, and the highest score recorded of the new decade (18.16).
A frontrunner entrant to WITBLO12.
Winner of the Runouw Votes Summer 2012 Best Level vote.
Acclaimed by fellow designers, named as Lordpat's 10th favorite level, MP3 Amplifier's 4th favorite, Kaboom's 2nd favorite and CrazyMario's 2nd Favorite.
The storytelling element of Dark came in second in the Revolutionary Gameplay poll tournament.
Won the tournament poll for Best LDC winner of all time in A History of LDC Entrants.

This series is perhaps my biggest artistic achievement. During a tough time in my life, I poured around a hundred hours of work just into this series to help me get by. The idea grew slowly, and so did the setting. The story became bigger than I ever thought it could, and it grew into something incredible. Story-based levels always come with controversy, but I'm proud of the way this turned out, and I honestly will say that I feel it has earned its place in history.

I'm glad you agree. I'm very grateful for all of the love I've gotten for this series. I'm grateful that you see in it what I do. It's one thing to be a proud parent, but it's another for your brainchild to become loved all across the community it calls home.

Special thanks are reserved to blackyoshi for not only editing/bugchecking this level, but ALL of my WITBLO12 entrants. He's not only an amazing designer but an amazing friend. Not many people would do what he did for me to help me with the state I was in at the time of his editing.

I'm glad you liked the fixing versions and saw them as better than before. It was a long but also interesting work. I got a view about your skills and how you build up your levels (pretty confusing sometimes. lol). I'm glad I was able to work at one of the best series on the forums.

I think I don't need to give good feedback about the levels itself. Because you know, they are awesome.
Loved also some things you tried to fix bugs by yourself, like the story signs in Escapists. I think I never saw something like that before. XD

That's all I can think about right now.

Do you know what scares me?

I made Tearing Paper as an attempt to beat this. I still have a lot of belief in it and I think with a lot of luck and good notoriety from the public, I might be able to do it...

But no, even with TP, to the best of my level designing skills seen so far, I don't think it'll beat Dark at all. It might get close, but I don't think it will.
Which makes me think I still have a chance if I feel I can still outdo TP. :3 (which will probably happen next year, lulz)

I know TP and Dark pretty well now. I mean really well. And need to say they are so close to each other that I have no idea which one is better. I see them actually as equal. Yep, I do. Both have their own great atmosphere and story. And both lack sometimes a bit of gameplay elements. But nothing too worse. :3

Both of you did an awesome work here and many people can learn from that time and love you two put in your levels.

I still need to find my right path to come up with something awesome. I'm pretty stucked right now but I will work that out.
