Well, this took a while to make. Two weeks and two days, compared Neon City's mere week, it feels like a lot more. But I had a bit of work to do because of school, but also because the level takes a lot more place indoors than the previous SMC levels so this means more tile-mixing or whatever you want to call this. Finally, I was supposed to release this yesterday, but the loading time was way too long, too long to be bearable, so I've decided to remove all items and start placing them again, only keeping what was essential. I managed to divide by more than two, eventually not having a single warning, which is no small feat, considering the amount of rotating blocks and Thwomps I have in the level...

Because yup, no more moving platform abuse this time around! Instead, the main obstacles in this level are, as I said, rotating blocks and Thwomps. I even managed to fit in a few very small puzzle elements. Nothing serious though, at worst you'll think about it for 3 seconds on your first play and then carry on. But still, I thought it was a nice touch :3

Oh, and one thing you should consider: Unlike most levels, Thwomps in Flooded Past don't back up after falling. Normally, that is: I must admit that I encountered some cases of Thwomps rising again, even with 0 in both rise acceleration and speed, and 999 ground wait time. However, these occurred rarely and every time it was when the Thwomp was near the border of my screen, making it almost impossible to jump on top of it. So this should be fine.

Also, alternate music is courtesy of Nan. It fits perfectly and is exactly what I had in mind, and, IMO, it really ties the level together. Give him a hug :>

As for the future, I am not going to make any level quite soon. I'll be focusing on WITBLOAT, but also the cards and maybe something that involve me fighting someone to the death using the SM63 Level Designer as a weapon might happen in February. So this means that my next level will only be started in March.

It will then be making NEON CITY ACT 2 (I really want to get these going in order to reach the BOSS ACTS as quickly as possible, I have cool ideas), and GHOST DEPTHS ACT 1. Order has not been decided yet.

• Updated FLOODED PAST section, also added new banner
• Changed color of VILLE LUMIERE from pale yellow to very light red because it bugged me that two consecutive levels had almost the same color
• Added location for ROCKY CANYONS

Last but not least, MoD, no need to change the location, Magma Oasis is already located on an island located with an active volcano. It's on the map already

I'm already so glad you've done it. Will check it out tomorrow. Hell would have to freeze over before I give anything else than 5 stars

EDIT2: Act 1 will stay below 800 tiles (probably 700) and also below 15 seconds of loading time. No worries.

Pretty awesome, Flooded Past looks great. It's not my favourite of the levels so far but it's not my least favourite either. It's right in the middle but considering my least favourite so far would still get above 17/20 probably that means you're doing pretty good IMO. :p

As for my progress, I've only really placed the first bit of tiling so far. I've tried to plan out on paper the journey first and it might take a while because I've never done layered paths like this before. (except for a bit of practice in the 28th LDC)

This level extends the use of Turbo FLUDD further than just gaining speed. Instead, you have to use it to cross gaps! I've also hidden a few secrets in this course, try to find them and get all 752 coins! Or try the speedrun challenge! You know the drill, but my timer is stricter than SK's.
If you want to reach the goal in 2:05, I recommend trying to stay above at first, but then going down at where you get the Turbo FLUDD, because the lower gap is "take or die", but easier. Generally, when speedrunning, follow the arrows (because a few paths lead to red coins only), and zoom out especially at the gaps.

The alt music is also from SK. Because he knows his job.
