Triple J's List of Designing Tendencies & Level Videos

Thumbs up x2

LDing Tendencies
Things that I have/had a tendency of doing when making levels.

Are you curious as to what I tend to do? Does there need to be some clarification on why I do things often, or why I used to do certain things all the time?
Check this out for your answers! I'm revealing potentially helpful information on my Level Designing tendencies, past or present.

Former Tendencies
These are designing ticks I no longer have, but that doesn't mean I can't revive them!

  1. Mini-Quests: Side-challenges that I would implement. They'd have no reward other than pride. I'd explain the details via signs. I stopped doing it because I lost interest in doing so, but I may revive it if I revive the "Main Sequence."
  2. Multi-Shine Levels: I'd make levels of a "Main Sequence," each generally having multiple Shine Sprites; their difficulty would be scaled out of 20, along with having a title-description. I lost interest in this, but I may revive it if I ever feel like doing it.
  3. Level Statistics: I would list the totals of each item, rate lag intensity and coin collecting difficulty, and a few other things, all at the bottom of a level's description. Lost interest. I don't have any future plans of revival either, partially because I also feel that it is a waste of space in the level description.

Current Tendencies
These are designing ticks I have as of now. These, however, may pass by if I lose interest, come across issues, etc.

  1. Version History: I always record level edits in their Portal topics and put the Current Version in the topics' subtitles. I always do it because I think it is very helpful in recording every change I make, and I never forget what the level was really like BEFORE the changes!
  2. Level Sizes: I have a tendency to try and make my levels as big as possible. This is one of the reasons why I frequently have lag and loading time issues. A big reason why I tend to do this is because I believe that bigger levels last longer, potentially making them much more fun and "timeless." I am aware that this can affect its overall quality, but I am still a very experienced designer, so I am capable of overriding that issue.
