Bowser132's Levels

Hello! I made a level named... as you guessed... Dark Water Cavern!

In this level, you enter a cave and have to collect 13 red coins to obtain a Shine Sprite. It's not very hard, but it's tricky!

Edit: There appears to be some problems with this level.

First off, there is a part where you spin attack a shell for a certain purpose. This part is glitched and may or may not work. If it doesn't work, please exit and re-enter the room.

Second, I have play-tested this level massive amounts of times. If you think any coin is impossible to reach, then you're wrong.

Last, this level was intended to be a one-run-through level, meaning you aren't supposed to have to backtrack. This, I now realize, was a bad idea. Make sure you check each room thoroughly before continuing to the next.

Dark Water Cavern
First off, I really like the name for the level, it sounds dark and mysterious, which I don't see often. The level started off great until I saw lava. Seriously, lava! I've seen this too many times, is it really necessary to have lava? I mean, its a water level, what is lava doing in a water level?! Also, I saw this level was unbeatable, there is a Red Coin that is placed too high for a jump even with the help of jumping on a Paratroopa. Another one, I saw what you tried to do, and I thought it was quite clever, racing the shell, but the shell stopped... what do I do now? Why wasn't there a way to get back midway in the level? I really didn't like the fact that if I didn't have the 12 Red Coins I had to restart and look for them again, why no warning at the midpoint? Too many flaws for a level that could have so much promise.

Very original title, and that's sarcasm, so you know this review isn't going to be good. It's unbeatable, period. I don't understand what is with the obsession of have pendulums, especially at the beginning, sure they may be a challenge, but having too many drives players away, I find obstacles like that not challenging but annoying. I want to ask, how were you to get that Metal Cap? There were no paths that led even close to that, and if there were, please tell me. And even if there was a path, what if I missed the Metal Cap, what would I do then? The pipe is in the lava and I missed the only Metal Cap...

The Volcano... I guess that tiny volcano can pass as one. Also, there was no need for that extra room, especially when the Sling Star shoots you directly to the Shine Star. Before you post the code, make sure their tested before giving us this crap.

2. Burrito...you don't need to come down so harsh.
3. Cavern

This one was the best of your levals. I don't mind the laval and think it is quite nice. Just fix the red coins problem and you're off to a great leval.

4. The Volcano

Ohh, god. If you are going to make a title like that..you have to have something interesting inside. And....it isnt' so different from any other vocano. Think of it. if it is the same as other people...why play your's.

Volcano: Well that was nice. It was my first ****ing level.

Cavern: And just because I added lava and didn't "stick to the title" doesn't mean it deserves a ♥♥♥♥ rating. And you obviously didn't know how to do the level. The "unreachable" shell is easily earned by hopping on the Paratroopa. And the "shell racing" part is glitched, I know. But it works sometimes. I play-test ALL my levels and you deem them unbeatable. It isn't unbeatable. I already stated that. I play-tested it several times. I don't know what part makes you think it's unbeatable.

I've played this myself. It's beatable, and a fairly decent challenge (for the coin in the beginning that's "too high to reach", I suggest getting a running start and holding the up arrow when you jump on the Paratroopa -- you jump much higher, and if you miss you can always go back outside the cave and give that Paratroopa a chance to drink a Red Bull ;) ). The "race the shell" was a nice touch, as well as the "switch" that does something you don't expect it to.

What I didn't like, however, was what pretty much amounted to a forced hit on the Paratroopa smack dab in the middle of that cave in the first section. Knock it aside, and it takes out the one you'll need in two seconds to clear that gap. Dive under it, and it's quite difficult to recover in time to grab the red coin just past it. There were also a few graphical inconsistencies (mainly around the lava pit), but overall it was a nicely designed level.

I'll give it a 4.0/5 for level design, and a 2.5/5 for difficulty.
