and it's like

most of what's being written right now is stuff you'll look back on a year later and be like "oh god i can't believe i wrote this" - not to say mine isn't because honestly the ♥♥♥♥ i write is mostly in a lopsided meter that only makes sense if you read it in freestyle form

and at the same time i'm one of those people who might get annoyed when people attempt their own sort of thing based on "the classics", especially in a genre where some amount of material is already stale

i recognise this is mostly a non-serious thread but from my bigoted point of view it's p much like two people who've only ever seen a sword in the movies challenged each other to a fencing duel - they're going to have fun but people who have some idea about fencing are going to be in desperation

you are exaggerating what i have said - rap absolutely needs to rhyme, it is that rhyming is also something that doesn't need to be rigid and your rap does not need to be structured around rhyming (which seems to be a common misconception)
