You say that like you can just change the flow of time at the snap of your fingers. No, it requires much more effort than that. First you need to build a time machine, and it's not like the blueprints and parts for it are just lying around this small office.

You assume that when the voice in your head said "slightly broken panel", they meant the vent in the corner of the room. You get on your knees and try to remove the cover. It swings open like a cabinet, revealing a digital clock that's been embedded in the wall. Above the digital display is some text that says, "Time Manipulator", and below the display are the clock's controls. There is a switch with two settings: backwards, and forwards. Right now, the switch is on forwards. There is also a knob with some text next to it that says, "Speed Up/Slow Down".
