[SBE] Super Smash Bros. Engine

General talk about all of Runouw's other games and projects.

I don't think this game will have a portal at all, but more like a submission form for people who think they make professional content. Then it can be reviewed (and edited if necessary) before it is included as DLC for the game (If this game is going to have DLC).

If BY DLC you mean LDC (showing that you really need to browse the forums more) then I think it'd be rather tough with this game. It's not like you can make SM63 levels to brawl on...

How about the music system will be like Warioware D.I.Y where you can make your own music tracks instead of Importing them. Also, animated Tiles please?

Not about a bad idea, with the whole music-creation thing. Everything else we have to create:

~Levels

~Characters

The only problem is that this would probably be very difficult for Runouw to do, and if he hasn't had plans already to do something like this, chances are he's not going to.

OH PLEASE DO! It'd be endless that way! ENDLESS I TELL YA!

The way I imagine it to be offered... Within the game, you select the "downloadable content" tab, and it'd load up a page listing all the "confirmed" content. There'd be a tab for Stages and characters... and whatever else you implement. You just select, download, and it'd automatically intall afterwards. Similar to the "More Levels" feature you find in multiple other games. Of course, my idea could be completely different from Runouw's. Most likely.

If all I said is possible, of course. :P

Would it be possible if you make the stage and play that stage online?

Could there be a point system? Where you earn points, don't know how yet, but you can then use them for the DLC. Of course some would be free. Then again, if you lose all your data on the cookies, you would lose all those to. This brought me to another idea, where you sign up and it adds points to an account online, say here.

Not sure if it would work well though, only a thought.

OOO! YOU REMINDED ME TO SUGGEST A MONEY SYSTEM! YES!

I can't express my love for good games that implement money systems. You know... you get money from beating people, and progressing through the story. Then, you go to the in-game shop, and purchase what in this SSBE could be.. characters, stages, etc, instead of unlocking them via the story mode (or whatever). It just gives players even more freedom, by allowing them to choose what they get in their game. You could put so many great things for people to save up for. Maybe new things would become available in the store as you progress through the game?

And as Buff suggested, you could even implement the Money System into the DLC. User-created levels could be free, but ones by Runouw would cost something.

Whow. Too far ahead of myself again. I'll stop now.
