Well, I think Runouw's Super Smash Bros. Engine is better & more stable than Super Smash Flash 2's Engine, currently. The characters move very fluidly & fine. Also, I like the speed-motion blurs the characters have when the get hit. It looks a bit realistic. I wonder what's going to be in the next update of the engine.......

Just wanted to say...

I know you said Snake isn't finished. That's ok. I can see two things you haven't fixed him about:
1. He doesn't have AI
2. He changes into Squirtle for a split-second if you hit him

I prefer SSF2. While Runouw's version is more smooth, I just find more enjoyment when playing SSF2. It's most likely because the demo is in a later stage, and has more work put into it. I guess we'll just have to wait until the games come out.

I can understand why you think that, so I'm not going to argue, or criticize.

Unfortunately, I really don't think we're going to be seeing any more updates from Runouw's engine for some time. The Smash Bros Project, and the Fantasy Smash Project (the places he's been getting all of his sprites from) have just very recently completely changed their whole style. This means that they're going to have to start again, and thus, leaving Runouw nothing to work with.

Honestly, the guys down at the Spriter's resource are absolutely ridiculous. A number of sheets were pretty much finished, and they go ahead and change the style? Did they have any consideration for the effort those spriters put in, and how it was all dumped down the drain, because they found some insignificant thing wrong with the previous style? Argh! If this keeps up, they're never going to finish! At least not for a great number of years, I can tell you that.

They changed it because the old style had too many details packed into one little sprite. The new style has brought loads more help because it is easier to sprite.

These sprites are sexy.

I admit, they look great, but I wouldn't say they're any easier. They may have less colours, but their bigger design must be a real burden. The older, smaller sprites I'd say were easier, because despite the amount of colours they had, the spriters could just pack them all into a nice little bundle, and not worry so much about all those smaller details.

With these newer designs, the spriters now have to stress about getting all the sprites to look close to identical in terms of colouring position and such, whereas with the older ones, they could make a few exceptions.
