  • DEMO 2 HAS BEEN RELEASED. Download it HERE.

PREVIOUS NEWS
  • The second contest is over and the winner has been annouced
  • First place: Zed98
  • Second place: AlucardX60
  • The very first demo of the game is available. It can be found here.
  • My signature has been updated to include progress on the game. I will usually update it every week.
  • A new demo has been announced and is scheduled for release May 30th, 2011 (date subject to change).
  • A second contest has been announced, and details can be found below.
second art contest: show
  • You are going to recreate the main ship from scratch, in the hopes of making a better version than the two I have tried using.
  • Your sprite must be 32-by-32 pixels exactly. Anything else will be unaccepted
  • IT SHOULD RESEMBLE A SHIP. While probably the most obvious rule, it's also the most important.
  • It should also resemble a good guy. Pretty simple, actually. Just don't do anything that could make the Ship seem evil, like fire.
  • Be unique. Please don't take a picture off the web, edit it, and give it to me. Remember, it should be made from scratch.
  • The deadline for this is May 1st. But depending on the quality of your art, if it is submitted a bit after the deadline, say May 3rd, I'll consider accepting it.
  • The winner gets Day of Awesomeness recognized to them. (that means, they get their own rank, color, and maybe, just maybe, I'll give them a snapshot of forum 23 (though it'll be of an older topic.) Also, they of course get credit in the game.

Hint hint: I helped him with making a pause screen in the chat, but I'm not sure if it was for this game...

Anyways, I can't wait to see demos and the releases. What ever it is, the game seems WAY awesome. Good luck on making it.

BTW, how about, in the opening, you have a message saying "Blab Studios presents...", like me having "Zed98 Studios presents..." at the start of my different games?

Hm, could be interesting. I may work on that later (and leave it as a surprise for the final game ;) )

Okay, well progress is going slow but I am at least getting some things done. Right now I'm requesting some help, though. The background I have for my game right now is just....ugly, and not very appealing. So I need people to design a background with the following stats:
  • It should be 400 pxls by 400 pxls (if it's any smaller, I won't take it. If it's any larger, I may still take it but some of it will get cut off.)
  • The theme should be Deep Space
  • Please design the background yourself, I'm not content with using pictures you guys find off the web.

The deadline is MARCH 1st.

The background I choose to use, the person who created the background will get their name in the credits and will get an early pic of the game. Also, for 1 day I will give you a custom rank. So come on guys, start designing! It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just effective. Now GOGOGO :P

Not sure why the stars came out blurry, but it does have a "deep space" feel. If its crappy, put lots of action in the level so the players dont notice :lol:

I used 2 Custom brush sets, it will be fine as long as credit is given.
