One Boss (Demo)

Hi there. I'm working on another game, this time a shooter focused on fighting a single boss. Cue short description:
The boss will have multiple stages of attack (besides just shooting lasers or something like that), and individual parts you can shoot at. There will be a bit of strategy to fighting him as well. In other words, it won't be as simple as holding down the spacebar.

The game is in its early stages right now; the enemy has no attacks, and there is no way for either the player or the enemy to die (though he can take damage). I don't expect it to take much more than a few weeks before I finish, though.

I figured I'd throw in an update and let you guys see how the progress is going. You can play the newest demo HERE!

There are numerous improvements, most notably a preloader and the fact that the enemy has 2 moves: he can absorb your bullets and he can spawn an impenetrable wall (hit the weak points). Just be aware that you still can't die.

There is a bug to look out for. Once the boss health hits 85%, his mouth will try to make the roaring animation, but if he makes the animation to spawn the wall at the same time, the mouth won't animate properly (and the mouth won't resize properly). That will be fixed at a later date.

Alright, so, due to some arising circumstances concerning the game, I have made the decision to cease development on the project. This is, however, in light of a new project I plan to start soon, something I think you guys will enjoy far more than what was in store for One Boss.

There are multiple factors contributing to this decision, not the least of which are bugs. But sloppy coding has made it a hassle for even the most basic ideas to come full circle. I think this is a good opportunity to start over and do something new, as I can take certain precautions before I run into any major issues.

So, let's talk about the new game. I'm thinking of doing something reminiscent of Epic Upgrade, with one basic element in play: Upgrades are locked to tiers, and you cannot buy an upgrade unless that tier is open. This means that once you unlock tier 2, tier 1 is no longer available to you. This will be coupled with the fact that you cannot buy all the upgrades in each tier; if 3 upgrades are available in tier 1, you might only be able to buy 2 of them, for example. This will provide for some interesting variety in how you play the game.

If enough interest is pitched, I will consider doing regular updates here on the forums. Let me know if you like the idea.

I'd certainly be interested in seeing development, but I don't think there's really enough interest here to justify having very regular updates.

Whatever you decide to do though, good luck with it, and I look forward to seeing any updates you do post.
