I should really try to make my levels shorter. :P

Rating standards: show
1 star: (0 - 5.75 in LDC) These levels need a lot of work. They're totally un-elaborated, and/or inherently flawed due to things like cutoff or enemy spam, or they're untested and there are too many bugs gameplay-wise, in short: Many many things went wrong in such a level.

2 stars: (6 - 9.75) These levels are not terrible, but poor. They're too short, lack scenery or they have errors and/or bugs but it's still barely enjoyable. Again, spend more effort and try to do better. (if it's your first level that I rate two stars, it's not bad. There's a long way you can still go)

3 stars: (10 - 12.75) These levels are about mediocre. They may be still a little bit short, the gameplay is fine but not very original and graphics are also solid, but not breath-taking. Try to keep improving!

4 stars: (13 - 15) These levels are nice, but not the best. Effort has been put into them, there can some professionality be seen in gameplay and graphics, they're a nice experience to play, but there are still things you can do to make it even better. Try to go the extra mile!

5 stars: (15.25 - 20) These are really great levels, those which, as said, I would give more than 15 in an LDC. These suffice many high requirements, and it already goes into subtleties if you want to make them better. These levels are successful all around. Bravo.

These are just general principles I try to follow when rating. Sometimes I don't leave a further comment when rating, most times I do, if you have questions about it, feel free to ask further.

By clicking on that link, I would be referring you to it(hopefully). As a benefit, I can download a soundtrack all at once one time for each referral. So its a Win-Win.

MIDI's judging takes a longer time not only because my level is complex (blame me), but also because - Edit: we sadly one have one judging per entry - and she needs to make a very detailed, well-considered decision about who earns to win as sadly there are no other judges. We should be thankful that she shoulders so much responsibility.

I've actually not read Shroom's judgings because I don't want to be biased, but yeah, I'll be done soon. I'm sorry for the delay I've just had to sort out some important things in the last week.

I have a question

Do you, MP3 (or Buff for that matters), know how to add new medals to the site, since Suyo is pretty much gone now? I could try to make an Halloween medal for these kind of contests. That would also mean changing all the past Halloween medals given out as Bacons or Cookies

Could you do that?

I'm not a full-blown admin so I don't think I have those permissions, unfortunately. You could try asking Runouw though because he might know how to.

Scratch that, I think I've just found out by myself lol.
I can create medals, I just can't add the images to them.

♥♥♥♥ it. The level takes three signs to load (way too much) and lags the ♥♥♥♥ out of my laptop. If I had the patience or the time I'd bear with it, but I just don't. This was a mini-LDC, a small 200x30 level would have been enough. Quality over quantity.

So yeah, I'm closing the Halloween forum either tonight or tomorrow. In the meantime, I won't set up a poll, just PM me with your favourite to win and the reason why, then I'll award the person with the most votes a medal. It will be a bacon because I don't think there's anything else I can use. If I don't get any PMs or only get PMs from entrants of the LDC, who obviously can't vote for themselves, then I will just close this and either no-one will win or I'll award cookies to everyone who entered and had a serious level that was completed in time.

Sorry. I've lost the will to judge three times now, partly not helped by endless arguing. So I'm just not doing it.
