'Twas a deadly day...
all hope was lost...
nobody could help the place...
that has once been peace.

THE LEGEND OF DEATH
Legacy of the Ghost Blade
------------------------------------------------
My name is Red, and I am here to tell you the Legacy of the Ghost Blade. People, however, call it "The Legend of Death." If you listen to this story, you will know why...
Let's begin...
Chapter One: The Scary Beginning
October 13
1968
In the town named Kinkai, everybody was getting ready to celebrate their favorite holiday, Halloween.
I walked down the streets, looking at the jack'o'lanterns and other Halloween decorations on people's porches. "Hey, Pops."
Pops is the Elder of the village. His real name is Aron, but he lets people call him Pops.
"Hey there, Red." The Elder said, carefully placing candle in a carved jack'o'lantern.
"You got plans for Halloween?"
"Yup."
"Whatch'ya doing?"
"Oh, it's a secret."
"Heh, okay. See ya' later."
"Bye."
I continued down the streets, waving at people that passed by.
And that's when it happened...
Loud screams filling the air, arrows flying everywhere in the sky. I saw a dark circle of clouds forming around the village. You should've seen it.
"Run! Run! RUN!" I heard somebody shouting.
"It's hopeless!" I heard somebody answer.
"Aim your arrows!" I heard another person say.
There was then more arrows filling the air, and loud screeches then filled the air. I figured whatever they were shooting at were making the sounds.
"What's happening?" I asked a nearby villager.
"It's the Dark Ones! They have-!"
And that was it. The villager got shot in the back with an arrow. I, surprised, ran away in horror.
And you won't EVER believe what happened after that.
Chapter Two: Death Itself...?
Vortexes. That's right... Giant vortexes filled the sky, shooting out beams of dark. It was a really scary sight.
"A-A-AHH!" I screamed.
I ran off in the direction of Pops' house. It wasn't over 5 minutes when I reached the house.
And guess what...
Pops was lying on his porch. Not sleeping, not dead... but knocked out. Bad.
"Pops... POPS!"
He was making little sounds that went like "U-rghhh..." I'm sure he was actually saying something, but I couldn't make it out.
"Ra..." I heard him say.
"Ra...?" I said back.
"Ra... Ra... Red."
I figured out he was saying my name.
"Yes?" I answered.
"Run."
That was all he said, and he closed his eyes.
Tears ran down my eyes, because that could only mean he was dead. I would've plotted revenge, but I didn't know how this happened or who- or what did this to him. And I didn't have enough time.
Why?
A huge black beam was shooting towards me. I jumped out of the way really fast. It blew up a house further away. Just then, a figure, cloaked in black, came out from behind the blown-up house.
"Red..." The figure said in a scary, deep voice.
I didn't answer.
"Oh Red..."
I still didn't answer.
"It's me..." The figure's voice started to light up.
"H-huh?" I finally said.
"Red! Come with me!" The figure's voice sounded now like a boy.
"Umm-" I said.
The figure didn't answer. The next thing I knew, there was a huge flash of different colors, like the ones you see in a movie when people are time traveling.
Time traveling?
I too, was time traveling. And that cloaked figure was next to me the whole time.
I soon hit solid ground... It looked like we were at a different place. Maybe a different time...
"Red? Are you okay?" I saw the figure.
"Yeah... fine... who are you?" I said.
"Call me Death."
Chapter Three: The Dark Ones
"Death... you mean like the... the... Grim Reaper?" I shivered.
"Yes, yes... wait, no- ugh! It's tough to explain..."
"Can you at least tell me what's happening?"
"That's tough, to... but I'll try..."
Death took a sigh, and started.
"There's these people... they are known as 'The Dark Ones.'"
"The Dark Ones?"
I remembered that man...
"It's the Dark Ones! They have-"
"RED? Are you listening?"
"Huh- yes, sorry."
"They are a threat to this world. They are trying to suck all the dark of night up, so they can make their own universe... a universe in which everybody is a Dark One..."
"That's horrible! How did you find out?"
Death looked up in the sky.
"That's tougher to explain... sorry."
"It's cool."
"We're in the future, by the way. Year 9000."
"OH MY!"
"It's true."
"Well, if this is what the future looks like, maybe The Dark Ones haven't succeeded."
"I'm not quite sure about that."
"What makes you say that-?"
I was stopped in the middle of my sentence. I looked up in the sky. The sky was all dark. No stars and no moon...
A big flash of Yellow shot against the sky. It burst against a tree. The tree turned into- a knight- that came charging at us.
"We better go, Red-"
Me and Death sprinted across the ground, and we soon reached a huge tree.
"Get inside."
"But-"
"NOW!"
I looked down, there was a big hole at the bottom of the tree. I quickly slided down into the whole. Death followed. I think I hit my head on something down there, because I felt very dizzy...
***
"Red..."
"Ugh..."
"Red?"
"Ugh- huh- Death... Death?"
"Red!"
Death was standing in front of me.
"I've still got more to tell you."
"What's 'more?'"
"I need to teach you about the types of Dark Ones."
"Which type will you tell me about first?"
"The Transformation Masters."
Chapter Four: Transformation Master Shighj
Death looked up at the ceiling.
"They have the power to change things into other things."
"No way..."
Death was still looking up at the ceiling.
"So that knight was made by a Transformation Master?"
"Yes."
There was a loud Bump.
"I think the knight is getting in. We better leave." Death said.
We ran through a hallway covered by green moss and mushrooms, when we soon reached an opening. We climbed through.
"Don't ask me how I know, but that Transformation Master had a name. He is the leader of the Transformation Masters. His name is Shighj."
"Shij?"
"No, Shighj. Shig-hej."
"Shighj...?"
"Yep."
We heard the knight coming, and we started running again.
And that is when something happened that should have not happened, happened.
I ran ahead of Death, when the knight caught up. The knight flew (yes, flew,) ahead of me and got shot by a yellow beam. It turned into an earthquake. The path ahead split up wide, leaving me to fall in.
"DEATH!!!"
I kept yelling Death's name, hopefully thinking he could get me out. But I kept falling... and falling... and falling...
And then I saw a tiny dot way ahead of me. It was Death. His head was over the huge crack.
"RED!" He yelled.
Death stood there, watching Red fall. He turned his head away, hoping he wouldn't cry. He looked up into the sky. A Dark One was flying in circles above him.
"Curse you, Shighj..." Death mumbled under his breath.
Will Death be able to reunite with Red...? Nobody knows. But this story will continue, and you will find out about Death's mysterious past, Red's terrible secret, and at last, the story of the Ghost Blade.
Stay tuned.
