I was joking somewhat…but then again, the site itself isn't a city either, but that one has certainly been done numerous times.

Well, people choose a city as the layout for the site because it's easier to keep track of and progress the story...a secret organization would be like that, but the word secret is what I have a problem with.

But perhaps as the story progresses it could become a secret organization....I don't see a problem with that.

Header has buildings, therefore the connection there is a city. Then again, the other heading is mountains. So we could go with something under the mountains. A "city" or mine. And if secrecy is involved, that could be a cover.

"There is a myth, a legend that has withstood both man, nature and time itself. A legend that speaks a thing, that if found, could change the fate of the entire world forever."

"'Thing'? What is this thing you speak of?"

"Across the centuries, the legend has spoken of something called 'Runouw'."

"But what is Runouw? A place? A person? A thing?"

"Well that's just it. No one knows exactly what Runouw is."

…so…the story would be about…finding what Runouw is?

Could work. We could all be various people seeking for Runouw in different capacities…some might be seeking it for their own personal gain, some merely out of curiosity and fascination with Runouw…hmm, starts to sound like Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark when you think about it, but I think it can work.

While mystical, that just makes the rest of the Runouw thing redundant... Unless of course the Runouw community is based around looking for this object.. ??

Have any of you played ForumWarz? (Woo. Visited for the first time in a while. Man that place went to hell...) This concept sounds similar. I enjoyed that place back in the day (you know, a couple of years ago)...I think it could work. (The concept, if you are feeling uninterested in research, is that the site is an online game representing the internet as a whole, and you played as different stereotypes of internet citizens as they go about their daily lives on the internet, that being expressing their idiocy in new and creative ways and taking part in a government/hacker plot to take over and destroy web sites. Lots of satire, lots of comedy, and the resulting inevitable irony. FWZ was definitely NSFW, though...)

For those experienced in teh interwebs, I had a brief 4chan period, where I also played FWZ, and learned what "bottom of the barrel" REALLY means. Some things cannot be unseen. *shiver* BTW, I do not recommend having a 4chan period to anyone. Your soul does tarnish as a result. I've been trying to scrub goatse, 2girls1cup, and worse out of my skull for a while now... (And if you are still curious, I suggest you do NOT Google it, and just look it up in the Urban Dictionary. The pictures are not necessary, or beneficial...)

@Buff: Who said it needed to be a community?

@Doram: I had a 4chan period too....may God have mercy on our souls.

Okay, so it's pretty much been established that it's going to be a Runouw.com story?

Well, there's a movie out about the creation of Facebook, called "The Social Network" based on a book called "Accidental Billionaires". What if, instead of a story particularly about users of this site, or of the site as a city, how about a bit of realistic fiction about the creation of Runouw.com? Of course, many of the things can be overly dramatic, but I think it might not be a bad idea.
