Who remembers the mass user pruning that the staff decided around
May of 2014 and haphazardly announced
September of the same year?
Back then if you looked at the forum statistics, you would see that we had over
60,000 users.
And If you cared enough, you would see that
nearly all of them were clear spambots and held 0 posts.
Some had interesting profiles fields and websites linking to inappropriate material, some were empty but could still be easily discerned.
Well, if you check again now, you'll see that we have below
10,000 listed members.
We're approaching the final stretch, and I personally have a lot of thanks to give. Mostly to my fellow staff members for discussing it for nearly the past year, even if it was on and off, but also to any European users that tried to browse the forums in their mornings while
I, personally was in the midst of pruning users. Thank you for your extended patience.
Of course, a lot of these users were completely legitimate, but simply had 0 posts. In the end, we took the easiest route and assumed any users that haven't posted just wouldn't mind.
If they did, they could easily reregister and not be reprimanded.
