The Battle of the Snowflake Keep

Damien sees Harmless trying to attack general Otto. He shouts "BE CAREFUL GENERAL OTTO!". Then he casts freezing spell on Harmless. "Two mages, buff us with defensing magic. Three mages, attack Karyete with fireball!" He commands.

Kerri and her squad fall back. Kerri boosts the squad's defense.

WINTER SOLSTICE - HARMLESS/ROBIN/DAMIEN/KARYETE/KERRI

The Novemian forces outside the keep carried out their commander's orders. The bow knights launched another wave of arrows at the Decemian commanders, but with only ten able-bodied men available, they weren't able to shoot as many arrows as they did before. With the Decemian mages raising up another wave of flames, the Novemian heavy armors were not able to proceed. The arrows missed easily, too.

Karyete rushed out of the keep, leaving his soldiers with no order! He got out of the keep through the tunnels which Harmless' men had dug.

Before him, was Harmless, rushing toward the Winter Archmage with nothing but a gauntlet. Karyete shouted.

"Harmless, NO!"

Karyete tried to stop Harmless, but he was too far for him to reach. He rushed through the waves of flames, enduring the burn. The spearmen were not able to cover him completely due to their armor heating up drastically. Damien cast a freezing spell on Harmless. Without any proper protection, he received a direct hit, completely casting him in ice! Two of Damien's mages cast a barrier onto their whole squad, while three of Damien's mages launched a flurry of fireballs at Karyete. He took a direct hit and was burned by the chest! The Novemian clerics pulled him back and tended to his wounds.

General Audrey crawled back up, recovering from the wind spell. She saw Harmless as he dived into the flames, and sighed. She noticed a sparkling sword in the seams of the flames. Spellblades...

She vaulted across the flames again, and landed before Robin, taking him by surprise. He tried to cast a small fire wall to keep some distance, but the general quickly delivered a powerful kick at the commander's shoulder, dislocating it and knocking him on the floor. "Stay down!" She yelled, and turned to the mages generating the waves of flames. She leaped right at them, impaling them in quick succession. The flames died down quickly. Harmless' spearmen were finally able to rescue their commander. The clerics defrosted him, but the freezing wound can still be felt.

"Urggh...ARGH!" Otto grunted and cast even more lightning bolts at the Novemian general. The bolts forced Audrey to back down to the gate. He panted even more, but finally, the reinforcement arrived.

25 mages, 25 bowmen, and 50 spearmen. Five mages tended to the general's lack of energy, while the rest of the mages concentrated their fireballs at the heavy armor corp. Wounded and outnumbered, they were quickly obliterated. The bowmen fired at the Decemian forces, but their feeble arrows could not pierce armors effectively. The bow knights returned the favor and took out five bowmen! The spearmen rode onward, clashing with Harmless' spearmen and mages. The Decemians lost ten spearmen, while the Novemians lost five spearmen and one mage.

Meanwhile, back in the keep, Karyete's men were in disarray, with their commander leaving them out of the blue. Kerri urged the defenders to pull back. The invading forces marched on...


She boosted the squad's defense, but it still wasn't flawless. With the innate disadvantage of foot versus mount, Kerri lost a knight on both sides. This clearly isn't gonna work well.

Kerri's Clerics try to bring back the paralyzed knights.

"Now, Kary! Pincer attack!"

Kerri and her Mages will buff the Attack of every ally around them as much as possible, and send all of her Knights to strike at once, counting on Karyete to do the same, hoping that this tactic can make the enemies into a sandwich. Hopefully the combined Attack boosted force of 18 Knights and 20 Axemen attacking from two directions can cause at least some damage.

Not to mention Karyete has TWENTY FIVE MAGES.

"Use all of your magic, Kary! Boost us as much as possible!"

[Megar]

"Jerk! At least fight fair!" Robin yells, getting himself back on his feet. 'Way too quick. We need to play a different game entirely.' He thinks, struggling to put his sword back in his sheath (after dispelling the fire) but eventually doing so. "Could use some help with this whole dislocated shoulder thing..." He groans, but still comes up with a strategy. Slower moving attacks are no good against their general, and quite frankly he has no interest in dealing with her more than he has to. So he fires off multiple quick lightning bolts with his available arm, while keeping on the move.

"Two mages, cast raining spell on Novemian squad. Three mages, try to cast siphon spell on Novemian squad as much as possible. I'll attack them with lightning!" He commands his mages. Then he casts numerous lightnings on Novemian squad while the rain is going to pour down on Novemian squad.

[Karyete]

Karyete obeyed Kerri's order. "Mages! Provide both offensive and defensive boosts for the knights, Kerri and I!"

"Knights! You heard Kerri - attack!"

The knights had strength in numbers, and the defensive spells would allow them to absorb some damage. Hopefully they would get some work done.

OOC: Maybe we should focus on offense, so we're strong enough to actually sandwich these guys? But... if you can boost defense I guess that's also ok.

OOC: Our goal is to survive, so boosting both offense AND defence will help with that.

[Harmless]

OOC: I'm sorry, but did you really just have my character dive right into a firewall instead of vaulting over it like Audrey? It doesn't help I didn't even know the firewall was in between me and Otto, but really?!
