The Battle of the Snowflake Keep

Re: The Battle of the Snowflake Keep

Karyete was surprised by Robin's agility - however, his scythe barely scraped him, and Karyete didn't even feel an impact. He landed, and turned to face Robin, only to see crackling electricity all over his sword. This concerned him - although his scythe wasn't conductive (imagine trying to fight in a thunderstorm!), he hadn't been using the gauntlet for too long and had never seen it react to electricity before. He decided it wasn't worth removing it.

This time he waited for Robin to make his move, and took a defensive stance.

Robin makes a leap forward as if to bring his sword down, but he cuts the leap short, stopping a fair distance away from Karyete and shoots a lightning bolt instead.

Knowing that he was up against a crafty opponent, Karyete was sure that Robin was not going for a simple strike - he leaped to the side and dodged the bolt of lightning. Fireballs he could stop, but he could only dodge electricity - if he tried to reflect it with his shield, it could go anywhere. There wasn't a safe way to approach him - but like his shield energy, Karyete was certain that Robin had a limit to his magic.

Robin looks carefully at the situation. "You know, neither of us are getting anywhere with this." He remarks, slowly strafing Karyete.

Keeping eye contact with Robin, Karyete stayed vigilant.

"You're right...perhaps you should go back to the crummy hideout that you came from."

"Wha-rude!" Robin frowns. "Actually, no, not too bothered by that remark. It's not like I have any stake in this. A job's a job." He continues, continuing to strafe. "I mean, no hard feelings and all, but I've already been paid. And I'm not too fond of running away from a job."

"Listen dude - you've already been paid. If you leave, it's not like they can stop you. Rather than ending the lives of many hard-working knights, you could just go. Other than payment you don't get any benefit out of this, and you've got what came for already. It'll make everyone's day easier."

Karyete didn't lower his guard, but he was hoping he could reason with Robin.

Kerri saw her dead teammates, and couldn't help but feel terrible. She had to keep her spirits up though, for the good of the people she was fighting for!

"Mages! Conjure up a barrier our bowmen can shoot through! Bowmen, fire at the enemies that are closer! If you can, shoot the enemy commander!"

♪Even amidst the raging storm
we shall keep up the fight
We'll be the ones standing
at the end of the night♪

Kerri buffs the Mages so that they can make a better defensive barrier for the bowmen and fort. The Bowmen will fire at Damien's Squad, focusing on Damien himself.

I think this map is more or less accurate. I don't know for sure where Weasel's supposed to be though.

"No, see, that's the thing I've been hearing about! Decemia's losing out here too, because Novemia won't - or well, can't - share any resources!" Robin brings up. "It's like a lose-lose situation and I feel bad no matter what I do. Doesn't help that I didn't plan on getting roped into this. What about you? What's your story?" He asks.

Karyete shrugged. "Novemia needed people to defend it and I was trained. I'm nobody important. But we're not the bad guys here! If we could help, we would, but Decemia weren't satisfied with that result. Lives are being lost because of Decemia's ruthlessness."
