The Battle of the Snowflake Keep

Re: The Battle of the Snowflake Keep

"Just like Decemian lives are being lost via starving to death, freezing, and any other such thing?" Robin frowns again. "Like, I get you, I really do, but come on." He continues, still strafing around. Without a word or any sort of warning, he shoots off ice at Karyete's feet to try and stop him from moving.

Before Karyete could reply, or even think, he instinctively crouched and activated his shield, covering the majority of his body. However, his position was poor, and the action knocked him backwards.

Ice shards exploded everywhere in front of him - they went in the ground, up in the air, and towards Robin at high speeds. Karyete felt a warmth in one of his boots, and saw a couple of ice fragments buried in it. The warmth of the shield had prevented any extreme danger, but it wasn't easy to walk anymore.

"Whoops!" Robin yelps, sidestepping the shard that went towards him. "Sorry about that. I wanted to move on, so I figured I'd try and take you out nonlethally. Doesn't seem to have worked as well as I hoped."

Ignoring the pain shooting through his foot, Karyete glared at Robin. "Listen. You wanted me to come down here and fight you, one-on-one. Well, let's make this an even match.

"Discard your magic, and I'll discard mine. May the better man win."

Karyete retracted his scythe into a sword-like form. He removed his gauntlet, and tossed it behind him into the snow.

"Alright, alright. Let's dance, for real this time." Robin smiles, putting his tome in a sealed bag. He shakes his sword a little, and the electricity comes off it. He'll be a little faster now, but he's lost the other advantage he had. I've got him distracted as well, so if my boys win they can carry on and assist Damien easily...

Karyete's confidence ebbed. He couldn't retreat now - not with a dodgy foot, and he'd stupidly discarded his glove. He wasn't going to make the first strike either, as he had nothing to speed him up. But he couldn't show that to Robin. Karyete glanced in Kerri's direction, hoping for some sort of miracle.

He twirled his scythe quickly, and pointed it towards Robin, beckoning him.

"What, you want me to go first? Oh fine." Robin shrugs, not noticing Karyete's glance away. Robin runs over to Karyete with his sword raised up for an overhead slash, but it never comes down, as he instead suddenly stops forward movement and opts to quickly slide his foot along the ground to trip Karyete's weak foot.

Karyete was aware of the fact that he had a weak spot, and expected some sort of attack directed there. He hopped back, keeping his upper body leaned forwards, and in a split-second he attempted to ram the end of the scythe's body into Robin's temple.

"Tsk, you're getting predictable." Karyete murmured.

In actuality, Robin had planned to jump to the left anyway in another trick, but he still ended up getting hit on his sword arm's shoulder. "Yikes!" He yelps, hopping back a little. "Right, that was too obvious a plan." Then, Robin being Robin, he decided he'd do the exact same trick again, but this time actually bring his sword down while doing it. It was slightly slower than it could have been however due to the fact his arm was damaged.
