The Battle of the Snowflake Keep

Karyete thanked Audrey, and took a deep breath - he wasn't out of the fight yet.

He decided to join Kerri and her army, and witnessed a large army of Decemians ready to strike. He looked at his gauntlet and wondered how effective it would be.

OOC: I'm on top of the keep's wall, you're gonna come up here?

[Harmless]

Leader Harmless notices a retreating Karyete. "Soldier. Stand with me." He mentions, looking for any fallen spears he can find and tosses one to him. "They aren't getting passed us as long as we stand, yeah?"

DEVASTATION - HARMLESS/KARYETE/ROBIN/KERRI/DAMIEN

Kerri noticed the incoming mage cavalry and decided to have the magic barrier boosted...but would it work? Her bowmen continued picking out the remaining soldiers, but with Damien's siphoning shield, the piercing enchantment faded from the arrows. Robin desperately tried to freeze the waves of arrows, but on his own it was not enough. In the process, he was hit by two stray arrows, one on the left shoulder, and another on the chest. They did not sink deep enough, though.

The combined Decemian forces continued routing Harmless' squad. But what was worrying was not just the ever-powerful Decemian knights, but the incoming mage cavalry! Harmless had the soldiers scattered to avoid whatever's going to be fired by the mages, but the Decemian knights, taking the advantage of a no longer cohesive formation, took out the scattered spearmen at an even faster rate! Five more spearmen went down in exchange of only two Decemian casualties (One each from Robin and Damien)! Harmless hid behind a stray rock to the right of the keep, waiting for the mages' attack.

Karyete, recovering from the duel against Robin, joined Kerri's ranks. Harmless noticed Karyete on the wall, and flung a spear at him, telling him to use it.

The hill is shaking...the magnitude of the amassed magical energy...it's overflowing! "TO HER MAJESTY!" The mages yelled together. The energy formed into a huge energy ball, shining like the moon. The mages shot the energy right at the gate! Kerri's bowmen were not the target after all! Damien saw the energy ball just about to fly by him, and gave it an extra power boost. "IT'S GONNA HIT! RUN!" The bowmen shouted and ran to the back of the keep, dragging Karyete and Kerri with them.

...

The front wall was completely obliterated. The explosion was quiet, but its force swept down the hill, almost knocking Damien off his horse. Behind the wall...stood Audrey and thirty armored knights. They are armed with deflective shields and halberds designed to slay horses. The Novemian commanders looked toward their general. She only made a hand signal. It was...fall back?

Harmless rallied his five remaining spearmen into a counterattack. With the general at sight, their morale was restored. They were able to kill one of Damien and Robin's horsemen each.

But! The Decemian mages continued their march. Harmless attempted to fire at the mages, but they revealed their shields and blocked the arrows! Finally stopping at the front line, they stared face to face with the defending knights behind the destroyed wall. Ten mages joined Damien's ranks, and the other ten joined Robin's ranks.


Otto smiled with confidence as he saw the radiating flares that came from the hilltop. His three hundred foot soldiers were already halfway to the top. "Nothing could ever ruin this...we have this in the bag now!"

"Karyete! You have to call for backup! Go yell down the hallway for backup! Everyone, get inside the keep once I ring the bell!"

♪Something something song, all day long♪

Kerri buffs the defense of her squad and any allies around her, including Karyete. While the bowmen and Mages attack the oncoming forces, Kerri runs towards the bell to ring it.

[Megar]

"...Hm." Robin mutters, getting out the enchanted paper thing and writing a message for Otto on it. "They're falling back, big guy. Let's keep going, but approach defensively." They won't go back without something planned to ruin our day." He plucks the arrows out and now, with his mage backup, shrugged. "What say we play with fire a little? They'll be firing arrows at us until we figure out what's going on, but there's enough of us here to set up a nice firewall that no arrow will break." He commands. "Or any other attack at that. Now, onwards!" He adds, before setting an example of a condensed fire wall (having learned his lesson from last time). "Just chill behind us, knight guys. You'll get your turn soon."

"Heyo, Damien! Get your fire up so we can maybe not get killed by arrows until we figure out a plan!" He calls.

[Harmless]

Arrows clearly aren't working anymore, and neither was holding the gate. Frustrated at how something like this could've happened, Leader Harmless tells his men to form back into Phalanx formation and buy him some time.

Retreating back to Audrey, he asks Audrey what to do now that the gate was destroyed.

OOC: I must post a decision before site down again and before Peter update this.

Damien saw Kerri rang the bell. Then he commands his squad "I think the bell can harm all of us with loudly sound of the bell or powerful magic, I'll handle this." "Mages, cast the barrier to protect us from arrows and other attacks. I'll protect whole Decemian squad from the bell!" He said and casts a large sphere for whole Decemian squad which can reduce all damage recieved by 50%.

Karyete did as he was told and ran down the hallway. "We need some backup out here! The Decemians are gaining ground!"
