I can't move the old man at x:1064 y:1488 and another one at x:776 y:112 using onDefeat triggers (the knight at x:744 y:128). The reason why I want to make the first man disappear and the second one moved to where the first man was is to make the speech different after the character defeats the knight.

The problem with the NPC is a bug in LL. When NPCs are moved, the spot where you talk to them isn't moved. So the game thinks the first old man is still there and you talk to it instead. Changing dialogue after an enemy is killed is still possible, though.

onDefeat:
1 g_dead = 1

onTalk:
1 g_dead = 1 goto 4
2 dialogue: Save me!
3 Exit
4 dialogue: Thanks for saving me.

This will make it so that the NPC's text changes based on a variable changed when the knight dies.

When the character talks to the same old man (I changed his trigger properties),when the man talks of the Machinevelator,the knight and the shadow creature respawns again,and the triggers that I set "plays once" can be played again.

What happened and how do I fix it?

I'm not good at explaining stuff like variables.

The respawning of the knight and the shadow and (I'm guessing) the "plays once" triggers occurs because the camera moved too far away from their spawn points. Since the location of the Delta Orbs where the camera moves can't easily be changed, the solution here would be to move the knight and shadow creature's spawn points and the triggers instead, to some point where they can't be accessed like y=99999999. I'd suggest moving the "plays once" triggers at the beginning of their own activation, and moving the knight and shadow creature while the old man is talking after you save him.

As for stopping sound effects, it can't be done to my knowledge. However, since sound effects stop on their own when they're done playing that shouldn't be too much of a problem.

As far as the game is concerned, if an item is not on the same screen as you, then it doesn't exist until you change to the same screen the item in question inhabits. If the move item is supposed to affect something on a different screen the same issue happens. The only way for you to fix this would be either be removing the transition entirely, or featuring an identical copy somewhere in the same transition, although I fail to see how that would be practical in the slightest.
