I don't think you can make the shadows any bigger, however, there are two different sizes, one is one tile long and the other is two or three. I suppose if you and more of an area to be black, you could use the tile colour change item (the blue box) and make it so that the tiles it overlaps will be black.

Go to course info and change the gravity slightly. In Chen's level, the gravity is set to 15, so it pushes you back a little, and makes sure you can't walk on walls.
