Yeah. I'm really getting tired of calling it "Mage Game". Can we have a friggin' name for it already?!

Runouw would do that AFTER he has finished making his game.

One thing I would really like added to the level editor is a checkpoint system. The thing that aggravated me in the SM63 editor was the fact that you were sent back to the editor screen if you died once. I'd like the "Return to Editor" option to be in the pause screen, and not triggered by a screw-up or death. If this could be in the end product, I would be incredibly grateful.

People found ways to get around that kind of stuff, though. For example, people could use a hidden warp pipe to take the player to a checkpoint, and when the player reaches the checkpoint, a sign will reveal to them where the warp pipe is hidden. Checkpoints were never really a brought-up issue since people could find a way to invent their own checkpoints.

But yeah. I know where you're coming from. It would, indeed, be much similar just to have a checkpoint feature. It could maybe work like SM63's Level Transitions, and by passing through it you get a checkpoint. Honestly, this would be a good idea.

You do realize that you return to the Level Editor by hitting the delete key, right?

I realize that. I meant to say that I don't want the return to the LE to be triggered by death. I know that delete and the pause menu can currently return you to the editor screen.

I like hugemario's trail of thought, though. I think what he meant to say was:

When you die during a playthrough of the game, a Game Over menu should appear, baring two options.

1: Try Again
2: Back to Editor

Soooo much more convenient. I get so frustrated when I play ultra-hard levels, die, wait for the game to return to the Level Editor, press "Test Level", wait for it to load, and die again.

Now that's something to really consider in a polished Level Designer, aye? :)

 It's train of thought, not trail of thought.

Anyhow, I agree, that had better be in the LD for the [MG]…it would be rather disappointing if it wasn't.

I've grown up knowing trail of thought, and for me, that's how it'll stay! :x

It doesn't seem to matter anyway. ;P

You know, something about this game has been bugging me for a long time now.

When Runouw introduced the plentiful features in the game, a lot of us thought "Wow! That's so cool! I can't wait to do that!" Like making your own planets, for example. However, I'm willing to bet that most of us had SM63 on our minds at the same time, the exact thing that's been bugging me. Because we're not thinking about this game, we're thinking about new features to SM63.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, I'm scared about how the gameplay for this game is gonna turn out. All the hop-and-attacking action that we loved about SM63; it'll be gone. And I'm scared for what we'll get in replacement of that. How many of us would love to use Mario jumping all around a planet going 360? That would be awesome, but that's not what we're getting.

So what exactly are we getting, Runouw?
