This is what I'm using and upgrading right now. I'm also upgrading a set of Books of Winds for crazy speed boosts.

i've been upgrading my stuff too much
no image, but i use

Left Wep: Basic Scimitar +7
Right Wep: Basic Halberd +6
Accessory1: Full Iron Armour
Accessory2: Horn +4
Accessory3: Damage Amulet +4
Feet: Spike Boots

So I'm basically a tank. It makes platforming and any sort of ranged fighting a bit difficult, but the raw power my Scimitar has more than makes up for it.

Whoa... this is LL now? Man I've been out of the loop.

Does this mean there's like, an RPG-type story mode, or is it still level designer only?

I'm a lot more magic-oriented and I prefer long range combat over melee. Like in every other game.
