JSlayerXero wrote:Very nice. For not using triggers, this is very good. Though I must say it reminds my heavily of your attempt using the SM63 editor. Triggers do take some time to learn. I read the tutorial, but I had to do some experiments in order to actually understand it though. For any trigger/button, there is a queue. This has a minus and plus sign above it. Minus removes the selected item from the queue, plus adds the selected item into the queue. Select an item in the queue to edit it. For changetile to work properly, you need two things, the upper-left corner of the blocks you want to edit, and want to edit in. To select the blocks to edit, hit the pick tile box. Now mouse over a block outside the trigger's properties window. Click that, that will be the upper-left corner of what you will edit. Now to change it, go to tile mode and use select mode. Highlight the blocks you want to use, and hit the copy button. Go back to the trigger queue. Hit the copy from clipboard button. There, now when the trigger activates, the blocks you selected will change into the blocks you copied. Note that what changes is base entirely on what you copied. It is also best to copy before going into the trigger's property box.
I agree, Suyo's tutorial is the most informative. But I actually checked the triggers he used afterwards to see what he did. But I'm also a code geek so I figured a lot of it out quickly. But I'm still new at using camera.

Edit: I just realized how long a the last post was...

Camera is even more simple. Place a coin in the desired location you want the camera to look at. Click the coin, and check its coordinates. In the camera zoom section, insert the coordinates you just learned. Set it to absoulute as well. You don't have to put a zoom though, unless its extremely small. Then put a wait for the desired time you want it to stay. Finnaly, place a camera off next.

EDIT: Remember to delete the coin.

And if you don't want the character to move, add a time set to 0% before or after the camera item. Then after the wait put a time set to 100% before or after camera off.

This isn't for discussing, it's for reviewing my level.
Here's some stuff about me, condensed into a spoiler!: show
Hi. I do level reviews and sometimes I might even draw something. Sometimes I might make a level. Sometimes I might make a level with Nan. But I prefer to pretend the old levels I made when I was like... 15 don't exist. Sometimes I even cook! Sometimes I even cook lobsters. Sometimes, people like the lobsters. Sometimes, I ride horses! 100% of the time, I get paid for helping people ride horses! That's what a job is.

LUGGY'S SUPER AMAZING FAQ!!!!!1
What are you doing right now?: show
Doing a level collab with Nan. And also, a super-secret-exciting project. You'll know what it is when it happens.
Who are you?: show
Hi. I do level reviews and sometimes I might even draw something. Sometimes I might make a l- *shot*
No, seriously, who are you?: show
Luigi Fan 64. I just realized when I stopped being a pubescent sack of malaria that that username is the most generic thing since that chair you're sitting in right now.
Why are you so socially awkward?: show
Well, I'm mildly autistic. No, seriously. It's usually not a problem, though.
Why are you acting like we care about this FAQ?: show
Well, you're the person who didn't scroll down to the next post. So clearly, you care at least a little.

Thanks for not immediately scrolling off. Even though I guess I didn't do much to alter your life in this sig. Meh.

Level topics have 2 purposes other than posting levels.
1. Review, which is what you are being picky about and
2. Suggestions, which is what these people are doing for you.

Now about your level:
3/10
Sorry, but I was disappointed by your level. There was too much cuttoff, and didn't feel very marioey for a smb1 remake. Some improvements could be made. Last Legacy offers the amazing ability to customize the colors of groups of tiles, you could do that instead of have the cave tiles for pipes. There are also a few other things you could do, but I was disappointed nonetheless.
Under Renovations. . .

I did give my opinion on your level. And no I wasn't trying to host a discussion. I was just trying to give you a (sadly long) tip on how to use triggers. Sorry if it became a discussion. But it is a good level despite the lack of triggers, keep up the good work. I'll edit in a serious review later.

It's okay. I just learned how to use gravity triggers. :D

I'm making another one called Lava Cave, and it's crap also.

Well it can't be that bad. My level has you storming a castle. It includes re-sized enemies, a gravity puzzle, a room that changes itself often, and sooner or later I intend to add the part that comes BEFORE the castle. Though I honestly find it too short and not that great yet. But hey, Last Legacy's LD can make good levels, it's just that's it's a complicated LD.
